You might have noticed that I have been missing for the last few days. Hurricane Ike managed to find its way to Ohio. We are used to twisters but not hurricane gusts.
We have been without power since Sunday.
My power has been restored and it is glorious.
I have missed electricity.
I am flicking my lights and the coffee pot is on!
I want to send power vibes and prayers to the people who were in this storms direct path. I hope recovery and clean-up is faster and more organized.
I hope you get your power back soon.
So what have I been doing while the power has been off?
Testing facial masks and products.
Heating up my coffee on the grill.
Organizing my lippies by color.(seriously)
I will be back tomorrow with posts.

Its hard to believe that hurricane Ike's wrath was felt all the way up here in the midwest. My sister lives in Canfield and has been miserable without power since Sunday night! Glad to have you back!! :)
Please come back soon! My morning coffee is not the same without your posts...
Oh Annie, wow that sucks. My aunt was just starting to get the wind when we spoke to her Sunday, but things were much better in her area. I know pittsburgh got whammed too. So odd.
have a cousin in Houston at Rice U. Luckily he has electric , he evac'd to a dorm, no TV or radio etc. and little food but at least safe.
Good luck to all affected by this.
electric is a wonderful thing.
I'm in southern Ohio, and my power just got turned back on yesterday. I applied makeup for work yesterday by flashlight (as my workplace had power - but home did not) and prayed that it would look alright by the time the sun came up! haha! So glad your power is back too!
I'm glad you're OK.

I'm glad you're OK! I know how devastating this hurricane has been and I hope for as quick a recovery as possible for all affected. I did find it a little amusing that you typed "powder" instead of "power"...a sign of a true makeup devotee!
Darling, so glad you are all right!
Every time it storms I think fondly of Hugh Grant.
No, no, not Liz Hurley's ex. The Mayor Hugh Grant who, after the Great Blizzard of 1888, ordered that all NYC's power lines had to be buried.
Nobody has ever given me a good reason why so few places in the US do that. In Alabama we'd lose power over everything from a little rain shower to a stupid squirrel.
GP: I have experienced intense storms but this was insane. I hope your sis has power now! Ytown still has pockets that have not seen a street department truck or an Ohio Dominion truck.
RSG: I will be back in the morning. I have missed steaming hot cups of coffee. I have been heating pans on the grill. Seriously.
BA: I can only imagine how intense those gusts were in Texas. They were clocked in at 60-70 in Ohio. It was a force. Truly.
Juliet: I was never in harms way. Just my fridge and sanity.
Sophia: OMG! I just spotted that! I was so excited that I was online and had power.
Campaspe: It killed me that I missed Mad men and Gossip Girl.
It took the Dominion truck...5 minutes and 1 man...to have us restored. We were too happy to have power...to get outraged.
))))F((((
Thanks everyone!
I'm glad you are back in business. I had a lot of flooding (the pond overflowed and closed all 4 lanes of the street by my house) and I was without power on Sunday. It was charming at first, when I had the light of day to pay bills and read a much-neglected book. But it slowly became a drag as it got darker and I burnt my finger on hot candle wax trying to navigate to the bathroom. No thanks! I love electricity.
It's pretty funny that you fired up the grill to make your coffee :^)
So glad all is well, and that your power is restored!
I organize all my lippies by colour - it's the best system! Great blog & keep well.
Is that a picture of Jane Asher?
Carol: I love you! I was hoping someone would comment on her.
Thanks for the well wishes. I'm still without power in Houston. Gotta love the iPhone.
