NYX Eye Shadows

I stumbled across a NYX display at a perfume store in an outlet mall. This is a line that is inexpensive yet hard to find. I bought everything from lippies to nail polishes. I have to say that the lippies did not impress me but the shadows did. Star is a silverish gray with blue glitter flecks. I use it wet to get the full effect of the blue shimmer. Alaska is a Russian blue. The texture is less milled than a MAC shadow. It feels slightly rougher and leaves a slight mess with some flyaway powder granules. However it blends like a dream and the pigment power is equal to the high end brands. Alaska has been compared to MAC's Moth Brown. I think Alaska is more blue based than plum. The shadows retail for $4.99.
Visit http://nyxcosmetics.com/ to find out more information about retailers. According to the site this line can be found at Ulta stores.

Disclaimer: The shadows featured in this post were purchased by me.

Love NYX - can't beat the quality for the price and so much better than higher priced stuff like L'Oreal!

I can't find NYX anywhere, really. Why would they create a good product then do such a horrible job of marketing it? It reminds me of the Carmindy line for Sally Hansen awhile back- supposedly the products were nice but I couldn't find them anywhere and I checked several drugstores. Oh well.

My local Ulta has a big selection of these. Not a fan of the shadows but the fat eye pencils are nice!

Try CherryCulture.com...they currently have these on sale for $3.50 and they seem to always be on sale but they recently had them for an additional 20% off...I bought 16 colors for a little over $40 and when you spend $40 you get free shipping! Do the math, I basically got these shadows for 50% off the price tag of $4.99! Check it out sometime!

The stores I do the buying for carries their entire line and I must say that for someone who is accustomed to using Chanel and Nars eyeshadows, NYX eyeshadows gives them a run for their money in terms of texture. With the exception of the glittery eyeshadows, they are velvety soft, creamy and blend like a dream. Their staying power is remarkable given how much you actually pay for, and I have the same accolades for their foundation powder, nail polishes and pencil lip and eye liners.

I have met the creator and founder of NYX cosmetics at the ASD/AMD Variety Show in Las Vegas and she is a thirty-something Korean-American gal who turned a hobby into a global enterprise. She says she travels all over the world via cosmetics/beauty shows to promote the line, and if you take a look at their website they have pictures of their free standing store in Brazil.

Their products are made in France, Germany and other reputable countries, and that is the reason behind the quality.

As you can see, can't say enough about NYX. They are based in Los Angeles so it might be easier to find their products if you live in the area.

I probably sound like the biggest nerd but I'm just excited that NYX is getting more press.
