Searching for the Perfect Pink:
Exploring CoverGirl
I am always on the hunt for the perfect pink lipstick. I want something heartbreakingly pretty like the underside of a rose petal. I spotted these Covergirl shades at a Walmart store. They were being ignored on a bottom shelf. I purchased each and every pink shade they offered. I was disappointed by the texture and lasting power of the formula. They just wore off too quickly and the color payoff was fairly weak.
#555(upper left shade) is called Pick-me-up Pink. It is a pinkish violet shade with above average pigment for a covergirl lippie.
#505 (upper right shade) is called Iceblue Pink.
It is a blue based cotton candy pink with high frost.
#545(lower left) is Parisian Pink. I purchased this lipstick for the adorable name. It is a fairly weak carnation pink. It contains no shimmer and is fairly matte-like. I use it to layer with other lippies.
#550 (lower right) is another weak shade. This is called Powerpink. It is also an frosty iceblue pink. This pink has more oomph than #505.
What do you think of Covergirl lipsticks?

I haven't tried a CG product since high school. Based on what you wrote, I guess I'm not missing anything!
I think I used to have one. Glad I haven't been tempted since.
I tried the Iceblue Pink - WAAAAY too blue, pink and icy for me. Reminds me of something I would have worn in the 80's. Gorgeous in the tube, though.
I absolutely LOVE the CG Sheer line. I have Sheer Lavender and it is the most gorgeous shade of pink that can be built up for opacity, layered and is a color that can actually be worn all year round.
I have some of the other colors and love them, too.
I love cover girl lipsticks.
I like smoky rose and iced mauve. I also have powerpink which I find really pretty on me and it does have good pigmentation which I need in a pink lipstick- nice for summer. I'm fair skinned so it can't be too pale nor too dark.
