Hermèssence Vanille Galante
My fragrance of the day is Hermes Vanille Galante. Hardcore fragrance lovers name this scent among the best vanilla notes captured in a bottle. It is a quiet mix of a unsweetened vanilla, a significant dash of salt, a bouquet of non-morbid lilies and a slew of herb greens. There is an aquatic, resplendent background vibe. It is nothing annoying or jarring. The sillage is whispery and ethereal . I am smitten.
This fragrance is sold at Hermes boutiques. It retails for $235 a bottle. There is also a travel set for $145. The pictured bottle is originally from a travel set.
The picture is from my new Nikon camera. Does it not look photoshopped?
I swear on my Lancome Erika F shadow....this is a unaltered photo.
No tinkering.
Just good light and a better zoom feature.
Disclaimer: This product was a holiday/vacation gift from a dear friend.
Thanks L!

I love anything Hermes...pure class!
That photo is stunning! It would be glorious as a large print, cheekily placed over the fireplace or sofa.
Yay for a new camera :) The photo looks impressive...
The photo (and scent) look lovely . . . can I ask what model camera you have?
The photo looks like it's from an ad! Have you seen the book Perfumes: The A to Z Guide? I saw it mentioned somewhere - maybe here? Anyway, got it from the library, and the authors trash many of my favorites. It's truly a personal thing, I think. Today I'm wearing Shalimar... Also, thanks for your weekly roundups, very helpful.
I must know the model of that Nikon, and can't rest untill I do!
VG is the fragrance I chose to wear today. It is really hot in Melbourne today 35C, and I like this on a nice summer day. I splurged and bought the big bottle last year - no regrets.
The new camera is a Nikon Coolpix L100. Nothing professional...but a lot grander than my Sony Cybershot from years ago. I bought it because it zooms in like a beast.
This photo was a first in a series. Might post the rejects on facebook.
Sharon: The authors are very dear friends to me. They were not fans of my favorite rose fragrance, Lancome Mille & Roses. In fact, Tbone, broke it to me before the book published. I might have let out a wail. I respect their noses, knowledge and writing. I still love and wear my Mille.
Coca: I love the enamel bracelets. They make me swoon.
Did Jean Claude Elena make this scent? I would love to know. I live in SF and we have an Hermes boutique. I will definitely go sniff this because of your recommendation.
I forgot to add that this picture is gorgeous!

Bella: I believe it Jean! But let me double check.
I love this photo because it looks so fake. I think it is the best I ever done.
