Orange Crush
New Aqua Cream from Make Up For Ever
Aqua Cream is a multi purpose, waterproof product that can be used on the eyelids, cheeks and lips. This product was created to meet the needs of professional makeup artists working in challenging environments such as humid temperatures and water. Besides intense pigment, the Aqua Creams wear like iron. The creams contain "evaporating oils to fix the pigments on skin" and a "special filmogen polymer that encapsulates the pigments to keep moisture out and render them waterproof". The hold was impressive to say the least. It did not budge in the slightest. It took Shu cleansing oil and some force to rid my lips of the product. I did not test it on my cheeks or eyelids. The reason being the color. I am fairly brave in my cosmetic choices.
I have a whole drawer filled with teal eye shadows.
But there is one beauty frontier that makes me nervous.
Orange.
Citrus on acid.
I tested #10, a crazy safety orange shade. It morphs slightly metallic on me. The formula glides on with ease and coverage is buildable. This orange would look spectacular on just the right person.
The color range is a mish mash of neutrals and bold pops of color.
According to Sephora, shades #5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 are formulated for the Lips & Cheeks.

For some mysterious reason there is no #19. I have no idea if it is a company policy or if there some fabulous limited edition shade floating around Europe. If anyone can enlighten us...please post in the comments.
Aqua Creams are available at Sephora. They retail for $22 in the US and $23 in Canada.

There's some ingredient in #19 that isn't approved by the FDA. It's available internationally.
We do have a Nr.19 in Europe. It is a gorgeous violet.
Shade #19 is not being sold in the US because there is some ingredient that is not approved for cosmetic use here. Should be available in Europe, though, if you want to live dangerously! ;)
i thought that europe actually had higher quality health standards for cosmetics, so i am surprised that the USA bans an ingredient that is safe there?
I'm pretty sure you'd love shade #2 which is more taupey than the description ;)
I took a photo with Erika F for comparisons

I'm surprised as well. Does anyone know the name of the ingredient in question?
I agree that I always thought Europe had stricter standards yet there are things that they won't let come here like the other type of Mexoryl sunblock. Look how long it took just to get the one over here. I don't get it, but I do get my Ambre Solaire from friends abroad :)
Love the colors in these Aqua Creams , btw. The emerald green is a stunner.
i am still on the fence about this product as it's cream. i am not good with cream stuff and probably have no idea how to work it right. but the more i read about this product, the more i want to give it a try. lol
this orange is intense!
These are fantastic. Really the best cream eyeshadow I have ever used--and the only one to last, even without a primer.
