Siren Song

Insolence Eau De Parfum by Guerlain

"One of the few fragrances built to work for three stages of a successful encounter: to draw someone's attention from across the room, to make flirtatious conservation for a few hours and to still smell fantastic the morning after."

This is a quote from Tania Sanchez (Tbone) & Luca Turin (Mr T) in the July issue of Allure. I heart them both!

My scent of the day is Insolence parfum. The early fans of this perfume were MUA's Cavewoman and Tbone.
It is an intoxicating mix of a ladylike violet with ripe berries. The ending is a mix of ambers and Tonka bean. It is a naughty alternative to Frederic Malle's Lipstick Rose.
So far...no "mens" are falling at my feet.
But it is early...
Let us know your favorite "man catcher" scents in the comments.

Disclosure: This decant was a gift from Tbone ions ago....

Here in Brussels I used to smell Coco Mademoiselle on the streets all the time, now it's Insolence! I think this fragrance though not particulary successfull upon its release is getting more and more fans from word to mouth. It's time Guerlain put some money in Insolence advertising again. No need for Hilary Swank.

I find Insolence very Guerlain: the contrasting notes, powdery base and lasting power. This must be the most longlasting edt ever!

My go to for Men scents are: Child, China Rain, and Tuberose and Gardenia by EL. I know these are not niche fragrances, but I like them and they do the trick. Interesting that they are are somewhat light florals.

I didn't really care much for Insolence at first (my first thought: A scent called Insolence? REALLY?) but after seeing a picture of the Insolence Blooming bottle, it looks like I should give that one a try!

So far, most of the fragrances in my arsenal are better suited for attracting employment rather than men... but now that I live in Southeast Asia, I've discovered that spritzing a simple cologne or body spray on the skin can be quite sexy, indeed. Nothing like a scent that prompts people to get closer!

As for man-catcher scents that I don't wear: Ce Soir ou Jamais by Annick Goutal, and anything by Dolce and Gabbana.

My husband loves Estee Lauder Beautiful Love. It's the only time he will actually tell me that I smell 'good'. I have about 50 other perfumes, but this is the only one he ever comments on!

I'm a fragrance fanatic so I have tons of scents, but the ONE my lovely husband comments on--and the one that lasts and lasts--is Chanel's Coco Body Lotion (not Mademoiselle; totally different.)

narciso rodriguez for her, hands down! it's the ONLY perfume that men have approved me in an elevator or whatever and said awkwardly 'uhh.. I never do this - but your perfume smells really nice - what is it? I want to buy for my wife/gf/mom/etc'

Strangely Gucci's Envy is the mancatcher for me...

I'm not in a mancatcher mode anymore, but Cavey likes the big white florals like I do.

Insolence is gorgeous!
