40 Days and 40 Nights of Beauty Cult Classics
Day 20 , Chantecaille Frangipane
This is another scent recommendation from Impishnature. Once again this fragrance was a departure from every fragrance that I held dear. This time I was captivated by a jasmine. It was sensual and intense.
The notes are vanilla, jasmine, Moroccan orange, and water hyacinth. The water hyacinth note is tricky. This smells exactly like a cucumber.
The note can be brief or long lasting depending on your skin chemistry. It plays an important part in the drydown along with the rich vanilla beans.
The reason why I have included this scent in the cult classic series is due to the Aniston Effect. I am talking about Jennifer Aniston.
Jennifer has managed to win the hearts of the public. I have no clue on why that is other than on her "girl next door" quality.
When I announced that I was on Team Jolie...I got hate mail...from friends. (LOL)
Aniston announced in some nameless magazine article that this was her favorite fragrance. Soon after, this scent was nearly impossible to find.
If the perfume was good enough for Brad Pitt...then it was good enough for everybody else.
It was sold out at Bergdorf and Barneys for months.
There were wait lists.
I managed to get a bottle from Chicago courtesy of Cavewoman.
You know a product is a cult classic if you have to go through extraordinary channels to get your hands on it.
Fragrance junkies: Do you agree? Do you think it is a cult classic or a bust? Let me know in the comments....
