Rock the Gloss Challenge for Wednesday(Project Runway Day) August 2nd 2006:
My lipstick for the day is MAC Bombshell. This is a great shimmery golden pink. Ideal lippie for a smokey eye.
I layered it with MAC Nymphette gloss.
I am really loving this gloss/lipstick challenge. It is making me dig into my stash and use different combinations.
Also...it has made me start a new lippie lemming list. There are so many great recommendations in the comment section.

Lippie of the day:
MAX Factor MAXWEAR Lipcolor & Gloss Duo in Carmel Icing (I think). It's a soft, pinky brown nude on one side (creamy color) and a shimmery white on the other (sheer gloss). It gives you that great frosty 60s lip without the pastiness.
Based on your rave, I recently bought Estee Lauder High Gloss in Berry. I've been wearing it alone and over Philosophy Supernatural lip pencil. Thanks for telling your readers about this fabulous lip gloss!
You're probably lighter in coloring than me, so it's a bit hard to make a good recommendation, but DiorKiss in Praline is a light nude that should flatter just about everyone. Allison Raffaele soft glosses in Elegant and Polished are nude on me but plummish brown on others and I just discovered the wonders of Bésame Cosmetics. Their lipstick is phenomenal.
Here's my lippie for the summer- L'Oreal Color Juice Stick in Watermelon Ice with a dab of Murad Pomegranate lip therapy SPF 15. The fruity smell reminds me of my lip smacker days. Annie, I'm inspired to branch out because of your posts!

Love Vincent Longo stains! But my lippie lemming? The Keneko-24kt-gold-infused-don't-even-ask-the-price-lipstick. Oy! Help me!

Revlon ColorStay Soft & Smooth in Succulent Berry, topped with DiorKiss in Sirop De Violette (Grape Freeze) but I like the name in French much better!
lippie of the day: Becca Amaretto. I think it would work for lots of women. The Becca glosses are no bargain but I love their consistency, lack of stickyness, and color range.

I love Raisin Glaze! It is the best color and it really suits any skin tone...
I just bought Dior Plastic Gloss in Electrifying Red and it is truly the most gorgeous deep intense red I have ever seen! It goes on like gloss but has the look of lipstick, it is something else and there's always something about a great red lipcolor that makes you almost feel like someone else.
Lippie of the Day: I took the advice of Anon and bought one of C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint. Only I bought it in #1137, which is a light pink. It's sooo yummy:) It also numbs the lips a bit, probably the peppermint oil. The color's good too, it looks like my natural lips but pinker. It's very glossy, but not glittery.It feels really good layered over Patricia Wexler No-Injection Lip Plumper. It makes me feel like my lips are super plump.
I don't know if this is the right place to ask questions. I hope it's okay, I need some help and you guys really are the true experts. Me & mom's going shopping in Dayton tomorrow. What do you guys do when you walk into a the cosmetics section of a department store, where you know just happen to know ALL the counter people, and they're all waiting for you to come to their counter? Like if you're at the Estee Lauder counter, and the SA's at the other counters are watching you. It makes me feel like they're expecting me to come over and buy stuff, just because I have before. What to do you? Do you acknowledge them, go talk to them or what? Please help

You do not have any obligation to always purchase an item when you visit your local mall. They are eager and friendly because they know that you are a good customer that knows "her stuff". SA's love beauty addicts. Cavewoman and I always stop and chat with our local and cleveland counters. We discuss new products and play with the testers. Some get pushy(ie YSL Nordstorm counter) but we just say "Not today".
I would encourage you to develop relationships with all your local counters. This is a great way to get info on new releases and maybe some samples. Plus...there is nothing like having a SA buddy. You get good gossip and get to peek at the new releases book.

irisla: Those Lauder high glosses are so wonderful. Great quality and the fragrance is so addictive. Who knew fig and vanilla could smell so good?
non-blonde: I am very fair with very dark hair and eyes. I love Nars Foul Play so I reach for nudes often. The Diorkiss sounds like a must try.
I hope to try Besame products soon. MUA member Chattykathy was a very early fan. She raved about the quality of that line. The packaging looks so wonderful. I love the retro look.

Tussah and Griffie peer pressured me to get a red lip. I tried a Chanel and the SA gave me a Bette Davis lip. I had a meltdown. It was not pretty.
Luckily I was saved by Sean at Nars. He introduced me to Cruella.

I got it Annie, first thing I've done since I woke up is check your blog:) Thanks, I do love to talk to all the SA's, it just makes me feel bad not buying anything. At least until the ride home and I'm sorting through my receipts:) This blog is so awesome, I can't believe how many girls "like me" are out there, in Ohio even! Anyways. I got both the C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint and the Patricia Wexler Lip Plumper at BBW in Defiance. And if they carry it, I bet you can get it at ANY of them! The Defiance Mall is pretty small, just an Elder-Beermans that carry the big 3: Clinique, Lancome & Estee Lauder. I bought the Wexler Lip Plump when they had them for $5, I have a bunch in the fridge, where I keep all my "overstock". And I got the Mentha Lip free, when I registered for BBW email, they sent me a coupon for it.
I am way too thrilled to see my recs on the lemming list! (Although if you want to get the Avon Glazewear, I'd also put in a rec for Peach Fizz - it's still available, and it's more of a golden peach-coral that goes on as almost neutral.)
Today (Thursday in the Philippines) is the day I wore the Revlon Super Lustrous in Raisin Glaze, with the Jordana lip pencil in Tawny and some Smith's Rosebud underneath. I'm glad that I'm not the only person who loves this one - I got the rec from Tia Williams at Shake Your Beauty and I've been wearing it ever since I got it.
