Getting Nailed Challenge for the week of October 30th:
My salon got the Zoya's Magique collection.

Of course I was giddy because they were brand spankin' new and chock-full of shimmer. I decided to wear the Ivy. I am not 100% happy with my choice. It is does not work with my skin tone. It is too warm.
It is a fiery rose copper color.
(From left to right) Pru in the bottle looks very similiar to Anastasia. However they are vastly different. Pru is a true grape. There might be a drop(more like a pin prick) of pink in there.
Ivy is a pink toned penny color with incredible shimmer.
Anastasia is a dark plum chocolate color with copper shimmer. It is very rich looking. Perfect for the dark fall nail look. Work friendly.
Evangeline is being described on the MUA nail board as a cherry color. On me it turned into a subtle raspberry shade with bursts of shimmer. It popped. This has the potential to be an all season color. Perfect for the cool days in fall and the hot lazy days of summer.
Charity is the most unique and potentially unwearable color from the collection. I would describe this as a dishwater lavender with a copper shimmer.
Colette was MIA. It looks like an impressive shimmery nutmeg shade. I have not seen it in person to make an informed description.
As a whole this is a solid performing collection. It only takes two coats to get the shade from the bottle. It has superior shimmer and many are true duochromes. If these were diamonds they would have a high "fire" rating.
What nail polish did you pick this week? Tell us the shade and if you are satisfied with it.

I'm wearing OPI's "O'Hare & Nails Look Great" (http://www.opi.com/Classics/Classics.asp?Lcolortype=Red&ID=294) on my toes. I had it on my hands but it was just too dark. So I'm back to Essie's "Ballet Slippers" on the hands. Maybe next week I'll go dark but I'm not ready to admit that it's fall into winter yet.
Today I'm wearing Ruby (Colorama - a Brazilia brand) and it is the perfect deep blood red. I've had it on since Saturday and it still looks perfect.
I hit the jackpot and found a place in A'dam that actually sells OPI! I'm wearing their Hawaian Orchid shade... its a light pink shade for the office, but it has the faintest lovely shimmer.
I'm back to Essie's Wicked. Got to mke the most of it before the trend is over.
I'm wearing OPI's Osaka-To-Me Orange in honor of Halloween but I can't wait to take it off. :) I think tonight I'll probably go with the trust I'm Not Really a Waitress on my toes and I'm not sure about my fingers yet.
Haven't put it on yet, but bought a Max Factor color (I have to have Express Dry, because I'm a klutz and will ruin a pedicure otherwise) called Racing Rubies, a shimmery dark red.
I am wearing Essie Wicked and I received the following "compliment"
Ohhh. I USED to love that color...
UM? Thanks?
Hey beautiful!
I love those Zoya colors. I have never tried Zoya nail polish, but that Anastasia is calling my name, lol! I would love to see what Nutmeg looks like. I will look for these colors today when I visit my local beauty supply store.
I am wearing one coat of Essie Sheer Bliss on my nails with three coats of clear layered in. That's my typical fingernail color.
I painted my toesies "Wicked," but I think I like LPAD much better. Perhaps I should put on another coat of it with clear on top to make it "pop"?
Hugs,
Violetnoir
Black nail polish from Wet'n'Wild layered with a pink shimmer. Not working as well for me as it should - perhaps if I layer a dark red or dark wine over the black it might work better? *sigh* And I really wanted to love the black nail polish trend, too...
LPAD on fingers and toes!
Love those colors. I have way too many products I have had to have just for the color, whether or not I could really "wear" them. Especially a peacock type of blue and anything irridescent...if I had much darker skin they would work best...
OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark. Love that deep purple color, get lots of compliments.
LPAD. hey, what do you pay for your manicure? at my salon (a very nice place), it is $30.00 for a manicure + hand massage. (oh, this is in milwaukee) - how about a post on salon prices around the country?
Chanel black satin. Like another post, need to wear it now before the trend disappears.
OPI Kennebunk-port on nails and toes. Gorgeous creamy red. Have gotten LOTS of compliments and it still looks good after 4 days!!
This winter it's all about the nearly blacks (just like summer was a nearly nude moment) so OPI Lincoln Park After Dark is the ideal deep aubergine ... easier on the eye and the cuticle than black ... and for summer oh my wait til you see their Fit For A Queensland, a shimmery silvery white that somehow makes white nails look chic XN
I just checked out the ZOYA site after looking at the posted colors!
WOW!!! Forget the others I'm loading up on ZOYA - they have a huge color selection and treatments too. NOT TO MENTION A SHIMMERY BLACK CALLED RAVEN (so much for searching for a deal on ebay for Black Satin). I had a bottle a few years back and it wore really well, but I didnt' know where to get it outside of a salon until now. Thanks
MORE DARK ZOYA COLORS... ANGELINA, PARIS and CASEY

OPI's Very Merry Cherry. It's fab.
I'm a HUGE fan of Zoya. But not just for the colors -- It's toxin free, too, which means no formaldehyde or other bad stuff. Don't know about you, but formaldehyde is NOT something I want on my nails!
I recently tried the ZOYA lacquers when my salon switched over from OPI...I was very distressed to hear of the change, but my nail tech convinced me to try and assured me that it would wear better than anything else I had tried before. With hesitation, I tried it (putting my bottle of "i'm not really a waitress" back into my purse). It's time for my next manicure now, and I'll be using the Zoya color again. It works better than anyother brand I've tried - just like my tech. said it would. THe only thing that bites is that it's being shown here - I wanted to keep my own little secret - hee, hee.
