Ugly--just like her personality.
She took a risk with this dress, and I think that with bolder makeup it might have worked better. But because she left the face so colorless (and I'm an ivory-skinned gal myself) the whole effect is very "I Walked With a Zombie."
I have not yet watched Grey's Anatomy but I have seen a lot of pics of the actresses. Ellen Pompeo tries so hard but never gets it right. She clearly has no idea how to dress for her skin tone or figure. Sigh.

It just doesn't work for me. The dress accentuates her thin frame but does nothing to bring out her figure. I bet the color works better in person.
I don't hate the look, but something seems off. Maybe this would have worked better if the dress either had more shape at the waist, or if it was short like shown on the runway model? I think the unique neck adds an interesting element, but a dress of that shape looks better when short. The leg showing helps balance it all then.
Melanie: Does she have a bad rap?
F: It looks like she was trying to capture the makeup and hair from the Lanvin show. I think it was too severe for her.
I agree with you that she took a risk. It was hard dress to carry off.

She struggles but she has some moments. I liked the Versace dress from the Golden Globes. I thought she looked great but the reviews were mixed.

I can see this dress(runway version) on Cameron Diaz. She has the gams to carry it off.
A bad rap? You have to go watch the way she treats the waitress on an episode of Punk'd. It's all over You Tube now. She is a major bitch. I feel really bad for her boyfriend. I think he stays with her because he is afraid of her.
