The best thing that happened to me this weekend.
The new Estee Lauder Azuree Soleil fragrance.
No...it was not a rumor or an urban legend.
It really does exist and will be available in April 2007.
The Tom Ford Azuree body oil was a huge success across the country. The bottles flew off the shelves in my little town along with all of Northeast Ohio. You know you have a winning product if the Midwest can not keep it in stock.
Rumors started on makeupalley and various beauty blogs that the Lauder company was bringing it back in fragrance form. One of my favorite SA's in the land, Alesha at Saks, stated that she had some and it was every bit as fabulous as the oil.
Alesha was 100% correct. This fragrance is every bit as magnificent as the body oil. It is lush and full of summertime goodness. It screams surf, sand, pool boys and more pool boys.
The description from the Estee Lauder press release: The seductive tropical summer scent is built around a heart of "tiare milk"-Tahitian Gardenia petals steeped in coconut oil-wrapped in layers of sun drenched orangeflower buds, jasmine, magnolia petals and droplets of myrrh, evoking the sensation of a golden afternoon on warm sand. Brightened with Sicilian bergamot and mandarin, the scent's rich warmth is sustained with dash of luxurious amber enhanced by the elegance of sandalwood, vetiver, luscious caramel and nourishing coconut cream.
They have managed to make the fragrance true to the oil yet improved it on the quality of notes. This Vetiver note is one of the best I have experienced. The mandarin note leaves too quickly on me but the mixture of the coconut and caramel more than make up for it.
I am beyond my usual state of smitten.
This is not the only good news coming from Estee Lauder.
They are also relaunching the body oil spray for what looks like $29.50
Can you believe it?
The fact that they did not mark up the price makes me love the company more.
There will be more final details soon. It looks like there will be a body lotion along with 1.7, 3.4 and 8.4 oz size bottles.
My advice is to stop by your local Estee Lauder counter and see if there is a waiting list or a confirmed release date. I do not want to set off a panic but the the first body oil flew off the shelves within a month.
You can not be too careful this time.

Azuree was my first grown up fragrance, even though I was far from grown up when I started using it. My sweet Mom wears Youth Dew, so I had plenty of experience with visiting the Estee Lauder counter. I couldn't believe my nose when I smelled Azuree--it was as far from Youth Dew as could be. I fell in love immediately. I only defected from Azuree when EL introduced Aliage, which started my long love affair with green fragrances. I'll look forward to seeing (and buying) Azuree soon.
I love that Lauder pays attention to their customers. This is great news!
I'm actually craving a bottle of Estee these days. Lauder just keeps me coming back.
this has basically every note i am obsessed with. i must own this!
LOL at "pool boys and more pool boys." Great stuff. Please, please give us a heads up when this becomes available?
I thought I was hallucinating when I saw this in an eBay auction a few weeks ago in the same exact bottle you just showed. I won the auction, and have been in heaven ever since. I am so ready for warm weather and the scent takes me to warmer days!
was so excited when i read on NowSmellThis that this was not only coming back but in frag. and lotion too. Luckily I still had plenty of oil left, just in case it wasn't re released, but lets face it , thye know when they have a winner and can sell, sell, sell.
Can't wait to try these new additions.
Oh lord, A! Another one to place on my "to try" list. :):)
Hugs!
I will let you know what it is available.
It is wonderful and totally worthy of a lemming stampede.
