Fragrance of the Day: Guerlain's Chamade
I fell in love with Guerlain's Chamade after being properly introduced by Brooklyntbone. The vintage version is intoxicating.
I had given up the dream of owning a vintage bottle until Tussah spotted this bottle on Ebay. I do not have an Ebay account due to fact that I am weak and prone to financial ruin.
Cavewoman was kind enough to bid for me. We won the auction for around $58 dollars. I opened it last night with tweezers and a prayer.
The first whiff was sheer heaven.
I love everything from the opening notes to the lovely woods drydown.
The notes are Hyacinth, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Blackcurrant bud, Galbanum, Vanilla, Woody notes and Balsamic notes.
What is your fragrance of the day? Let us know in the comments!
Disclosure: I purchased this perfume via Ebay
BTW: Inside the box was a vintage price tag of $16.00

By coincidence, two Guerlain's. Started out with Imperiale and has now changed into Habit Rogue EdC.
What a score! I really enjoy your blog, btw :)
Trying out Le Couvent des Minimes' Verbena & Lemon today. Can't say I'm wild about it, but I'll give it another go when the weather warms up again.

I forgot to mention my foo of the day!
I started the day wearing FlowerByKenzo, and loved every minute of it.
Now I'm wearing Fire Island by Bond No. 9 and loving it for this warm Ohio evening!
Patti: I had to tug on it with tweezers. Next...my French CanCan.
Anon: I love that bottle. The new one called L is pretty good too.
Tussah: I am addicted.
It does not smell as rich as Tbone's sample though.
You smell beautiful too.
ahrianrad: That is a great mix!
Tell us more about the CB scent. I was in the store and had a sensory overload. Also I was so smitten with Cradle of Light...that I did not give the others the attention they deserved.
Marina: A great choice for summer!
Hi Dartz! The $16 price tag cracked me up too. I still thought I got it for a steal though.
Shifts: You smell really fab!
Lydia: Thanks!
I always have a hard time with lemon as a note. It does not react well with my skin.
Anon: I *think* I have a vial of this in my sample drawer. I need to do another sample challenge and start testing again.
P: I have been mixing Fire Island with everything.
How wonderful to have that Guerlain jewel, Patti!! I remember when I worked at Higbee's downtown ( and loving every minute of it ), that I fell in love with L'Heure Bleu..it is part of the magic of fragrance that getting a sniff of something you used to wear brings you right back in time! My fragrance today is the very hot Great Jones with Fire Island over it...quite intriguing...Barb
today's fragrance is L by lolita lempicka, love that it reminds me of a tasty cake :)
