CoverGirl's Trueblend Luminous Loose Blush Powder Collection
I have been using Pure Romance(pictured to the left) as an all over powder instead of a blush. It reminds me of my beloved Caron loose powder in Venitienne. It leaves a subtle rosy glow with an extra pop of gold shimmer.
Shimmering Sands is ridiculously gorgeous. It is a caramel color with iridescent gold and apricot shimmer. This is way too dark for me to use as a powder. I have to use a light hand and a skunk brush to apply this as a blush.
The powders retail for around $7.00 at your local drugstore.

The colors are beautiful but when I looked at the ingredients on these, they contained mineral oil. Why would CG put mineral oil in these?
was just thinking I needed to try them. thanks for the review. but now I see the anon. comment here re: mineral oil, so not for me. Thats a shame , as they look so nice
Annie, In the year or so that I have been reading your blog I have to tell you that your photography has improved so much. I should have mentioned this earlier - but the jewelry shots were gorgeous and all the close ups of the beauty products make me want to but them - even the shots of freshly manicured hands are so nice!
I don't comment often, but I do read your blog everyday! Keep up the great work.
Anon and BA: I have no idea.
So far I have not had any breakouts...but I will be on the lookout for skin issues.
I really wish drugstores had tester units. I would have never guessed how lovely these powders were based on the way they look in the package.
Mary: That has made me day!
I have been working on learning my camera.
I read your blog daily and have been LOVING the food shots and reviews.
I get excited when I see you and Q have gone out to dinner!
I would love to see the two of you have a show on the food network.
the 2nd looks like coca powder.
I'm using the 415 (translucent medium) as a bronzer, and I do have to be careful with it, but it's awfully nice. The texture is great.

Mineral oil is safe for your skin :).
Also, can't wait to try the new CoverGirl blush. Can I ask, does it have that horrible CoverGirl smell or is it odorless?
Robyn: I did not notice it but will check!
Anon: It does! But with added sparkle and glitz! LOL
I went to CVS the other day and remembered to check this out. It was on sale for $5.29 (normal $7.99) so I scooped it up in the Romance Sand (Sand Romance) and tried it as an all over loose powder. I think it's because of my combo skin, so as an all-over, my forehead started looking a bit too shiny. I still love the subtle shimmer and rosy color though. I put it on top of my matte bronzers right at the apple of my cheeks, as well as on my temples, the bridge, and my cupid's bow (that's what it's called right?) for that ultra luminous glow. I gotta say, I felt like a star from looking so glowy!!
Thanks for the recommendation!
