I recently bought MAC Parrot since it was re-released. In doing research to find out if the new MAC Parrot was identical to the long discontinued shadow, I did see some people saying that Parrot is a duplicate of the L'Oreal HiP Showy. And even though they don't look quite like color twins in the pan, they do when swatching. The HiP was actually a little prettier and was harder to rub off. Since Parrot is $14 and Showy is less than $6, save your money! It's a great teal to use on your lids or as a liner.

I Am so glad you did this entry. People are just so caught up in MAC!! And the truth is you can find the exact if not better makeup at the drugstore. But don't get me wrong they have some amazing colors (and large variety) but really you have to ask yourself, are you buying it because of the color or the name.
Aw, I wish I saw this before I went out and bought Parrot! Thanks for the hint anyway! Do you know how Parrot is compared to Waternymph (from the MAC Lure collection)?
Mel: I went to Southern Park and they were already sold out of Parrot. I did get the last Navy Satin. LOL
You did not need Navy Satin--you already have Zoya indigo, which is better. LOL!
That blows my mind that Parrot is selling out again so soon. MAC needs to step up their production on the blues and greens. It is obvious that consumers cannot get enough! That is another thing that I like about the Showy duo--the blue on he other side is a delightful matte finish and very swoonwrothy on its own. You get 2 great shadows for 1/3 the price.
