I have lost my beauty mojo.
Readers and friends might have noticed my sparse posts and lack of lust over the last few weeks.
I wish I had something interesting or a glamourous tale to tell but alas...it is just a bruised heart and a heavy workload. I have been too exhausted to gush or bitch.
This week I plan to start afresh. I am going to rediscover my love for blogging and beauty. I thought I would start off with something that will make me swoon. A jar of shimmer generally does the trick. This is 3D Silver from the MAC Heatherette collection. They boys managed to capture a disco ball in a jar.
I have yet to use it because of the "not eye safe" warning on the box. I am not encouraging any misuse of the product but there is a MUA poster who has created some fabulous eyes with the 3D glitter.
What uses have you found with your 3D glitter? Tell us in the comments.

Not eye safe? I feel like that's kind of foolish considering I so seldom use glittery/shimmer anywhere but my eyes, especially a glitter bold like that. Seems kind of irresponsible of those engineers thinking anyone's going to heed their advice.
Hi Honey...
I know very well how you feel!
Many of us go thru a 'dry spell,'
where our usual 'zest' is missing.
Even our dear goddess Carrie Bradshaw had her moments.
I think a lot of the blame can be the troubled times we're living in...all the worries we deal with that we aren't accustomed to..
Please take some time for yourself.. get out, go for a long walk in the park or on the beach..
Play with some kitties..
listen to some great music..
drink a glass of wine..
You know we need you.. there's lots of us who are encouraged by your recommendations, we live thru you surrupticiously..so.. take care, and get back in the swing of life.. we need all the good news and joy we can muster!
I've lost my blogging mojo too! Maybe it's something in the air -
Ugh, Annie. I hate that you had to undergo a bruised heart AND a heavy workload! Hope this week is better for you.
xoxo,
Amber
I was incredibly sick all last week into this one, so it hasn't been my finest week either. Now I just feel worn out and have to catch up. When you are that sick, little else matters except getting better.
We all have our ups and downs- so hang in :)))))))
Feel better soon
I hear you, I've been totally overworked for about the last 6 weeks, and am helping an elderly relative clean up an IRS issue, and I am also just plain beat. I can read blogs, doubt I could write one now either (or read anything without pretty pictures).
It will pass, take good care of yourself. I'm finding that exercise and work out in the garden help clear out my mind.
(((HUGS))) sweet A.! I know what you mean - I have gone through weeks when I could handle no movies, just reruns of bad TV shows. Who bruised your heart? let us know so we can STOMP his.
I have applied these glitters on my arms and chest area on a night out about town.
It reminds me of this holographic glitter hairspray that I would wear to bon fires when I was in high school. I think it would be cool if you did a few waves of hair with it. Just dab some gel in your palm and then mix in some of this 3D pigment. Dip your thumb and index fingers in it and then run them through a few little chunks of hair. That would be diva-rific on your dark locks! I double dog dare you to wear that to work and still feel so humdrum.
I enjoy your blog very much, it is fun and inspiring.
May brighter days be just around the corner for you!
Blessings~

A friend of mine who worships 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' went to a MAC counter to learn how to amp up her eyes/liner with glitter. Here is what she learned:
create a strip of eyelash glue and then dust it with glitter--you can put the line above the crease, or along the lash line.
Annie, your blogs are consistently lovely, even when they are 'quiet.'

I feel you with the rut, Annie. For the past couple of weeks all I've managed, beauty-wise, has been my new foundation best beloved, Becca Illuminating Skin Tint, and a swipe of gel blush, and that's only because people begin to ask me if I'm 'tired' when I go totally makeup free.
I hope your workload eases up, and that something splendid comes along to help your bruised heart.
A. I'm so sorry that life/blogging is getting the best of you right now but you'll bounce back. You're my blogging inspiration, I wouldn't even have a site if it wasn't for you. We all need a break now and then and you know we'll wait for you. What you need is some great product/adventure to lift the spirits. I hope that happens for you soon. (((HUGS)))
Glad to hear you're getting it back. This little pot of pigment looks too powerful for my liking. It is an eye infection waiting to happen!
take care,
Grayburn
Thanks everyone!
I just wanted to let you know that is why the blog has been fairly lackluster lately. Work has been beating me down for quite a while. I need to reclaim my non-work life.
DJ: That is fantastic! I will have to try it.
I adore 3D Silver, but I have to say it's a bit much. I've found the most fun application with it, oddly, if I run a line of brow gel on the skin above my eyebrows and give myself a little brow halo before going dancing. Mixing this with Urban Decay Heavy Metal eyeliner is a big winner.
That said, I'm often inclined to just stick with the Heavy Metal and leave the MAC to someone a bit more adventurous ;)
It sucks when work drags you down & takes the life out of everything around you (have experienced it myself this past year). I know you'll rally and rediscover your love of writing about beauty. You've been an inspiration to so many of us; I hope things ease up for you soon.
Floundering mojo - oh no - - we can't let this happen! I was directed to your incredible site once again after Googling Contessa Di Castiglione Lady EDP. (It's mentioned in a 2005 Sniffa recap. I think it's gone forever.)
Anyway - work, the heart - two forces that constantly vie to bring us down. I'm currently mourning the exit of an Elvis impersonator/aluminum sider datemate that needed work in the kissing department. Is this what it's come to?!
Keep doing what you do so well- heck, I even want the Chanel gold stuff because of how you presented it and I know I'd look like Beyonce's pudgy white aunt if I indulged.
Keep fighting the good fight you beautiful thing. I'm off to yoga to dedicate my practice to finding another man ASAP.

I hope you feel better soon! Being in a rut is no fun.
I love MAC 3D Silver. I use it for everything (even my eyes, safety precautions be damned!)
