Shiseido's Hydro Powder in Rose Tulle
I am generally a fan of Hydro Powders. I love the light texture, range of pigment levels, variety of shades and its buildability powers. They are easy to blend and are resistant to creasing and disappearance acts. I have always been impressed with Hydo Powder's skills.
It almost acts as an eye primer.
Rose Tulle is the first Hydro Powder that disappointed me greatly.
It is an ultra sheer pink.
A little too sheer.
The pink disappears on my pale skin.
All that shows up is the shimmer.
And the shimmer is nothing to write home about.
This a glistening kind of sparkle.
More wet looking instead of incandescent and on fire.
It retails for $23 and is available at Sephora.

i've been looking forever for an eyeshadow that makes your lids look wet/moist not sparkly - something that would not settle in creases - dewey - is this it?
No. This specific shade is shimmery.
Hydro powders are great for their non-creasing abilities and hint of color. They are worth checking out! They are more dewey than MAC or Bobbi Brown pots.
Readers: Does anyone have any suggestions for Diane?
hey there--maybe MAC's clear gloss is the kind of think you're looking for, Diane... (pro product)
Diane - Have you tried applying a facial highlighter (Benefit Highbeam or Mac Strobe cream, for example) to your eyelid before applying your shadow? If your skin tends to be oily this probably would not work, due to smudging/sliding...
I like using Chantecaille aquablush in Radience as an eye base. It needs to be used with a flat brush and applied quickly to blend before drying but I find that it gives a wet/moist look and lasts all day. The product also lasts forever and duplicates a look of natural light highlight on the cheeks too or even mixed with concealer for a Touche Eclat style light diffuser effect. I find that MAC paints do a good job but are either dry or shimmery and Urban Decay Primer Potion goes on dry too. Awake has a product with a similar texture but it leaves behind sparkles and doesn't quite blend as well. Hope this helps a little Diane.
I love the HydroPowders!! They are the longest-lasting eye shadows I've ever had, and they are so easy to apply.
Too bad about the Rose Tulle disappearing on some skin shades, but what can you do... it happens! Try the Bare Pink for a hint of shine and a touch of color.
Shu Uemura Brown ME850 eyeshadow gave me that look: wet/moist looking eyelids I see in some magazine ads. Nothing over the top, though, perfectly wearable. Great quality, too. You may want to experiment.
I've never had luck with any of the Hydro powders. Another blogger swore by the white shade as a highlighter, but all it gave me were glittery chunks in my eye with absolutely no staying power.
I'm a much bigger fan of the Benefit creaseless creams. Birthday Suit is great, as is Tattle Tale.
In order to get a dewey eye that doesn't crease, you'll need to have a bit of fine shimmer to create an iridescence. Benefit does that without too much bling.
Wet look? On bare makeup days but want my face to look a bit 3D I use Smith's Rosebud Salve. It's not greasy, runny and overly sticky. I've heard ppl using Vaseline, but it smells! And is oily to boot.
I had the same problem with the Rose Tulle. What about the previous pinks? I know they have 2 others. The H13 Clover Dew is gorgeous. And shows up on all skin tones.
I totally agree--I love hydro powders, but a few of the colors were disappointing (languid lagoon, goldlights, and rose tulle).
I had the same problem w/ that pink tulle hydropowder. I use it as a base now w/ another very light pink powder and it works well
