Jouse Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Dust from Chanel
Meggie's dress was rose. "Ashes of Roses", it was called. And in it, she was the most beautiful thing any of us had ever seen. (Quote from The Thorn Birds)
It arrived in shambles but it is heartbreakingly lovely. The first thought that crossed my mind was the dress Meggie Cleary wore in the The Thorn Birds. It was a dusty rose shade that bordered on silver. It was cold, beautiful and foreshadowed the heartbreak in Meggie's future.
So it was fitting that Rose Dust arrived in pieces and crumbs.
Joues Contraste blushes are silky in texture, high in pigment and controllable.
They retail for $42 and Rose Dust is currently at your local Chanel counter.

Oh, that's so painful to look at! The poor Joues Contraste, I feel so sad for it. :(
I know. I gasped when I opened it.
I have saved all the crumbs in an old MAC Pigment jar.
Sorry if this is nosey, but could you return it? It seems you will loose so much blush with it broken like that... beautiful color though:)
Oh how I love The Thornbirds! It's one of my favorite books of all times!! (Beautiful blush, by the way!)
Oy! Return it, Chanel is too spendy to have to scrape up the crumbs! It does look lovely though.
I'm wondering if you can mix and match with the glittering debris and create your own lovely color...
I adore how you weave a tale! And under the distress of opening a crumbling Chanel stunner too ... brava! xo
I'm so sorry about the poor blush - I hate it when my powder makeup breaks. But that's a beautiful picture somehow, and the Thorn Birds comparison is so apt. You got a great post out of this catastrophe.
I would seriously return that, but I assume you ordered it online so that always seems to make things more complicated. I was so disappointed when I went by my Chanel counter yesterday and they didn't have that collection in yet, I've been planning to get the Gold Fiction polish and the Gold Fever highlighter, but my Chanel lady said she will call me next week when they get them in.
Argh, Chanel blushes are too expensive to turn into dust.
Beautiful color, though.
hey that happens to me all the time with eyeshadows i just drop it but i just repress it. just go to this site and it tells u how, hope it works out for ur lovely blush

normally, i try to change the container.. make it like a loose powder blush
I was feeling a bit ill from the heat and decided to sit down and search the web for pretty pictures of makeup to settle me. I went straight for blogdorf goodman to sate my makeup picture appetite and what do I see? An abomination, a tragedy, a photograph so graphic and horrifying it sent me straight for the bathroom in dry heaves. Next time put a warning on those sort of pictures. A true Chanel Junkie finds nothing sadder than a broken JC blush. Now I must go to the store and pick up Rose Dust for myself just so I can gaze at an unbroken perfect matte, dusty, plummy, pink blush that compliments all the fall colors from all the different lines. Shame on you Annie...you just made be spend another $42! ;-) P.S. I just purchased the Fantastic Plum (#154) Rouge Hydrabase lipstick and it is heaven!
darth: You cracked me up!!!!
I am saving all my Chanel purchasing for the Nordstorm sale. I will check out the plum lippie. I am really coveting plum/raspberry shades for fall.
