Chanel Spring 2009
The sneak peek into Chanel Spring are hitting the blogs. It looks promising with a violet nail polish and a lippie compact. Mr Phillips was inspired by sketches of gypsy dresses by Chanel. The collection is a mixture of fiery reds, deep plums and some shimmery taupes.
The collection will be hitting your local counters in January 2009. My local counter already has the collection in stock. Cavewoman has reported that Liberty(a pinky beige shimmer) and Magic Night(a shimmery plum) shadows are to die for.
Let us know if you spot the collection during your holiday shopping travels and let us know what you think in the comments.
The compact pictured above will retail for $60.

My friend works at the counter and showed me the collection. It really is to die for. I am going to buy it all. Even if I can't go out for a week or nine. :)
My saks has the collection. I bought the vendetta nail polish (sooooo gorgeous!), the eyeshadow quad (also super gorgeous) and the new brown eyeliner (loving it too). The lip compact looks pretty but honestly I'd never wear half of those colors, so I skipped it. Chanel cosmetics are my favorite, all I am buying lately.
this is the only item interests me out of all the spring collections i have seen online. i think it's so chanel. i can't wait to see it and see if i want it badly enough to get it. :)
I'm wearing the Vendetta nail polish right now. It's the purple equivalent of Blue Satin: a dark plum with shots of magenta and blue shimmer. I have the Mystic Eyes eyeshadow palette on my wanted list as well.
The lip compact looks amazing, but the segments of gloss are tiny and it'll stop looking amazing after a couple uses, so I'll pass.
My local Neiman counter had the whole collection out. While I wasn't so into the quad, the Vendetta polish and the glosses are gorgeous. And of course that compact you posted is to die for, although much too pretty to use.
In the case of this compact, for me it is more about the packaging then the product itself. Looks like a pretty basic lip gloss presented in above-average way. I would never spend my money on it. I will look at the nail polish though...
The collection is amazing, I work for Chanel now, so we had seen this awhile back, everything is so rich.. Almost fall like.. The lip palette is a definite must have collector's item.
:)
I bought and LOVE the new e/s quad, along with the Malta & Beige Desire l/s, AND the Beige Guitare Glossimer ... they are truly gorgeous, and the e/s quad is very well pigmented (comparable IMHO to the gold/beige one that just came out not too long ago ... forgive the fact that I am horrible at remembering names).
I actually want to go back for the Fandango blush after seeing swatches of it in natural light (I did see AND swatch it, but it was at night, and looked a bit dark ... guess I have to revisit lol).
Definitely worth at least checking out!
