Train De Nuit debuts today!
This is the new short film for Chanel No 5 starring Audrey Tautou.
It was directed by her Amelie director,Jean-Pierre Jeunet.
My swooning started when I heard Billie Holiday singing “I’m a Fool to Love You”.

By gosh, she's just stunning, isn't she? Soooo French!
Love the film. And it must be effective, b/c I want to run out and buy Chanel! Not #5, which is my mom's signature scent, but perhaps some Coco Mademoiselle or Allure? Ahh...
I cannot help but wonder if this is going to be like Chanel's advertising attempt with Nicole Kidman. Though I believe that this film is much more coherent to the overall allure of the brand... I believe there is something to be said about brands that do not use this kind of advertising.
I mean, I feel like I would adore Chanel even more so if they did not choose to do such extravagant campaigns. I mean you don't see everybody else in the business (Valentino, Lacroix, Dior, Ungaro) running to do the same...
These Chanel commercials always get me. I love the romance and the subtle sophistication. Audrey looks absolutely lovely. I love her outfits.
Arika: I know! I wish I had worn Chanel #5 today!
Anon 1: I actually love that Chanel does this. You just lose yourself in their world. This one was a slight departure. The luxury was subtle.
T: This was the most romantic commercial.
OMG, I just blogged about this! The Chanel No. 5 site even has interviews with Audrey and Jean-Pierre Jeunet, as well.
Romantic and stunning, I say. And dare I also say, in line with the brand. :)
I love Audrey Tatou!!! What an elegant, graceful woman! I didn't even care that this was a commercial - I was too lost in the story and the beautiful cinematography! Of course, Chanel No 5 doesn't need any selling in itself - timeless and classic :)

Esp. for a perfume ad. Of course, we buy it for the scent. But there's also something about perfume...you buy it for yourself first, I think. Not for how you want others to perceive you, but for how you see yourself. For the woman you are, and the woman you want to be. For how it feels on you, for how you feel when you put it on, or when you catch a whiff of it. It isn't about getting a reaction from someone else.
Something about that film is so appealing. It's about luxury, glamour, subtle yet beauty, romance...def. things that I'd like more of in my life! :D
I don't know if I'm making sense to anyone other than myself. But I will say that ultimately, Chanel must think this a good way of spending their advertising dollars. And I have to agree, since I'm suddenly inspired to stop by my Chanel counter this week! (Even though I've already bought my spring scent for this year! eek!)
Oooohhhhhhh....... I have goosebumps! How totally romantic. I see a bottle of Chanel in my future! Loved it. Sigh.

Who is that delicious man? :)
Tatou is terrific for the brand -- not just for her stunning looks but also her combination of strength and fragility, much like Coco herself 'no?
Isn't he the same bloke in the Nicole ad? Love Tatou, Orient Express?, the cinematography and that wonderful camera. Does anyone know what it is? A Leica perhaps. Don't like N˚5 it simply isn't worthy of this ad. Now Bois de illes would be worth all that glamour. And am I the only one tired of logos?
I absolutely loved everything about it...even though I;m not a fan of the No.5. Perfume, great cinematography, awesome locations, a camera, romance....perfection.
I actually didn't like this as much as the Nicole Kidman ones. Don't get me wrong, I love the actors in this short, but something about the first part was more creepy than sexy.
