An overdue comment… many thanks for posting about the Gina Brooke appearances a while back. I recently moved to NYC from the Midwest and made it to the Barney's event in November. I met not only Gina (who is absolutely lovely), but also Jason, who does the QVC infomercials for Shu. I took your suggestion, tried to not be my usual boring self, and asked instead for a playful look. Jason layered M665 -- this bright cerulean blue shadow-- on my lids, then patted on ME 906 for a burst of shimmer. Gina was fluttering about the room, tapping Gold Base Control on everyone’s cheekbones and snapping pictures with her digital camera to show us the effect. I purchased the faux lashes she picked for me, and one of the eyeshadows, but one month later, I am still coveting that gold highlighter…
Anyway, I wrote about the eyeshadow on leakybuckets.blogspot.com, if you'd like to see a few pictures of the eyeshadow. The pictures I took are certainly not up to your caliber, though! I would love to hear your comments and suggestions on my blog, if you have a moment!

How are you loving NYC?
I am so happy that you had a blast at the Shu event. One of the best makeovers I ever had was at the Shu counter at Barneys. The man created magic within 30 minutes. It was bronzes and an orange blush. Sounds insane...because I am cool toned...but it was amazing. Love Shu!!!!
I love the blog posts so far. You really captured the shimmer of the Shu!!!!You have inspired me to put that on my lemming list. I have been organizing my makeup stash and I realized that I do not own many white based shadows. I need to build up that collection!

PS: A request: Please blog about your experiences in NYC too. Take pics of the windows, beauty counters and everything. Document how you fell in love with NYC!
Annie- thanks so much for responding! Glad you like the blog so far. I will definitely take pics of everything in NYC; in fact, the L'Oreal brands (Lancome, Giorgio Armani, Shu, etc.) are having their annual 50-90% off beauty sale this weekend so I'm excited to check that out! Plus, you blog about the BG windows every year, and I can't wait to see them in person now :)
Also- thanks for adding me to your link list. As soon as I figure that out how to do that myself, I'll be sure to add your blog, too! I am currently preoccupied fighting with Blogger and begging it to not mess up my pictures and font alignments...
