If you love BECCA like I do you may want to start saving for the months ahead. BECCA will release so many products in the near future it is making my head spin but if you know the line you will see new shades of some of your favorite products like 3 new Beach Tints (including Raspberry) and Eye Tints as well as new favorites like Sheet Tint Lip Colours in 3 additional colors (these are incredible and I'll be reviewing the 1st 7 lipsticks released in the coming weeks). Also coming are brushes that remind me of the MAC 187 in 2 different sizes, a new foundation/concealer brush and a multi-use creme brush (these can be seen at the following link-http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/brand/183/BECCA/suppliers ).

I think the most exciting thing for me will be the Mineral Powder foundations. I feel like I've been waiting forever for BECCA to release one of my favorite forms of foundation, not to mention the fastest and easiest for me but with that natural look I've come to love from BECCA foundation products.

For those of you who need their BECCA fix now, BECCA has a special GWP offer of a free creme blush duo in Lotus/Frangipani with any 3 products purchased (item will not show up in cart but will be added to the order automatically when shipped) good through 2/14 at http://beccacosmetics.com/.

BECCA Paradise Lost Spring 2008 Collection
by storybookheroine

Sensual femininity is accentuated this season with BECCA’s Paradise Lost Collection, an alluring selection of coquettish shades fit for enchantment. Inspired by a garden of earthly delights, lips and cheeks are in full bloom with windswept pink, eyes are gilded in bronze, and skin is effortlessly illuminated with a dusting of golden beige shimmer.

This is going to be a beautiful collection! The cheeks and lips are a soft pinky-coral that is surprisingly wearable and feminine. The eyes are a simple wash of shimmering bronze. New items for Paradise Lost are a Lip and Cheek Creme in Tuberose, a Soft Touch Blush in Coquette, an Eye Tint in Gilt and a Nude Lip Liner Duo in Fondant. Daiquiri Glossy Lip Tint and Ultimate Mascara in Black (new from Holiday 2007) are repromoted items.

As of now I have Tuberose Lip and Cheek and Daiquiri Glossy Lip Tint so I tried to fake the look with my extensive BECCA collection and I was surprised at the fresh soft coral pop of the cheeks and lips and how comfortable and flattering the look is (one of these days it will stick in my head that coral shades are one of my favorites). I faked Coquette with Wisp Soft Touch Blush but Wisp is darker than Coquette which is much closer in shade to the super popular Hyawatha Pressed Shimmer Powder according to BECCA. I cannot wait to get my hands on it! Fondant is a pink matte nude with a skin tone beige highlighter (I asked and it is slightly different than the highlighting end of Nougat Lip Liner). Gilt Eye Tint is a shimmering bronze which thrills me to no end. Some of you may know I am a huge fan of BECCA Eye Tint. It makes a fabulous, crease-proof, waterproof, base to any shadow as well as looking good on its own and perfect for setting BECCA Shimmer Powders, Jewel Dusts and Soft Touch blushes (I love to set Wisp into Baroque, the original Eye Tint shade).

I wish I had all the products to give you a full review but these are some of BECCA's most tried and true items and knowing their good taste in colors I can only assume I will be very happy when my box of BECCA Spring arrives on my doorstep!

Please click on the pictures of the collection and the two models for larger images.

40 Days and 40 Nights of Beauty Cult Classics
Day 5, Becca Gypsy Pressed Powder

Gypsy is a plumish pink highlighter/blush that looks bold and slightly terrifying in the packaging. On the cheeks it transforms into something subtle and glowy. Most plumish shades can give a "bruised" look but Becca avoids this with the addition of a slight gold sheen. The pressed powder is finely milled and comes in a sturdy compact.

The reason why I chose this product as a cult classic is due to the fact that it took me a solid year to get my hands on it. Bergdorf Goodman was constantly sold out of it. I finally scored this compact at some random Sephora. I stared at it for a moment thinking it was a "beauty mirage". I also managed to grab the loose Gypsy powder and was momentarily famous for it. I was the girl on MUA that actually had one. Of course, the fame was very brief and only included a small band of friends.
Gypsy is lovely and actually worth the hype.

If you love or hate Gypsy...let us know in the comments.

Back To The Beach

Becca Tint in Peach
By Storybookheroine

Just in time for the end of summer, Becca has released Beach Tint in Peach. The follow up to the award winning Watermelon, Peach is a medium matte peach stain for the lips and cheeks. This multi use product is oil free, streak free and water-proof so excellent for a long day with no touch ups or days at the beach. Peach has the same fruity smell as Watermelon and is perfect for the peach cheeks so popular this fall.

What are your favorite multi use makeup products?

40 Days and 40 Nights of Beauty Brand Reviews

Day 4: Becca

StorybookHeroine:

I found Becca a year ago and it was love at first creme blush. I'm a minimal makeup girl at heart yet I still desire a naturally polished appearance with beautiful skin. Becca's line gives me the tools to achieve this without looking over made up or artificial.
The line focuses on a 3 step Complexion Perfecting System (Prepare, Perfect and Set) that yields natural, flawless results. The first step is to prepare the skin with primer and Becca LSC (luminous skin color), a tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 available in 16 shades. I love how this sinks in and evens out redness and pigmentation while still looking fresh and natural. 34 shades of stick foundation (SPF 30) and concealer target and perfect problem areas with long wearing medium to extra coverage. Loose powder makes the last step, set. This locks the foundation onto the skin for all day wear with a dewy water resistant finish, available in 12 colors. So many shades and undertones make it easy to find a perfect match for any skin tone from the lightest to the darkest.
Great products are not limited solely to foundations. Allure magazine winner Beach Tint, a watermelon colored lip and cheek stain, is near impossible to find as it flies off the shelves. Becca creme blushes, also Allure winners, are long lasting, beautiful and pigmented. Turkish Rose, a dewy nude rose, is a staple in my makeup bag.
Becca's eye shadows come in three long wearing formulas (creme, semi matte and shimmer). Favorites here include Rose Gold creme eye shadow and Doeskin semi matte. Lame is the most popular color, a lavender taupe with silver shimmer. For those who prefer the pop of loose pigments Becca jewel dust adds dimension, shimmer and shine to any shadow. Aspara, a sparkling neutral peach nude, is an everyday staple of mine. Becca Line + Illuminate brings together the pencil liner and a shimmering highlighter/creme shadow, available in 2 duos (soon to be four). These make an easy fast and pretty eye for those in a hurry. I like Ibiza for a smokey eye and Mustique for a bronzed shimmery everyday look.

One of the best things about Becca is their luminizing and shimmer products. It is so hard to find a shimmer powder or luminizer that does not make you look like an oily disco ball. Becca's SSP (shimmering skin perfector with SPF 20) is a tinted moisturizer available is six colors that brings radiance and a healthy glow to tired, stressed or mature skin as well as making an excellent liquid highlighter. The best of these is the new SSP in Opal, a peachy beige shimmer that easily blends into the skin looking natural and luminous. At first I used this as a highlighter only but now I mix a little in with my LSC to help me look healthy and glowing without being greasy. It is hands down one of my favorite products. Shimmer Powders come in loose and pressed forms. Some work best as blushes, like gypsy (a rose gold with a built in highlighter), others like Nymph and Hyawatha can be used as highlighters or as a finishing product to brighten the skin. My two favorites are Gypsy and Angel, a light pink shimmer that is so beautiful and perfect over any of their creme blushes or Becca's Translucent Bronzing gel (fabulous bronzer for light to fair skin). The last is Becca soft touch blush. Two are available now (Sylph and Malika) with a third from the Spring Go Nude collection called Wisp arriving in stores shortly. These finely milled powders contain the tiniest micro glitter to catch the light. Malika (nude peach sheen) gives a bit of healthy glow over any product or alone.

I love Becca. These products changed the way I apply and wear my makeup. Becca does everything I want and expect out of a cosmetics line as well as things I didn't think were possible. The price kills me but after the sticker shock dies down you will want more. Don't be surprised when you buy your first creme blush and go DAMN that's tiny!

Cavewoman: Does "one size fits all" really exist? Does size matter? Do nice things come in small packages? Or, is bigger always better? Do you Supersize?

My favorite product from Becca just might be the smallest product in the line. This tiny compact, which resembles some weird rubber-and-metal manhole cover or perhaps a futuristic space craft, holds the Rosebud Lip And Cheek Creme. A super-soft, beautifully blendable cream blush, Rosebud is the perfect milky-pink shade, not too blue, not too brown, no shimmer, no sparkle, but glowing and natural on the face. I can't think of another blush that I've ever seen that could be used on just about any complexion or skin tone. Think baby cheeks. Think Mother Nature Gave Me This Color cheeks. Application is easy and fool-proof with a tap-and-smooth motion of the fingertips. Becca Rosebud has a comfortable and creamy feel, which makes it very easy to blend on the face, it does not grip or drag in the least. I've used it on bare skin and over foundation as well. It's my "go to" color on those mornings when I have to be out the door before I've had enough coffee, or for when I just don't want to choose a blush from the little basket of blush compacts on my vanity table. No matter what other colors I'm wearing on eyes or lips, the small but mighty Becca Rosebud works well with everything, warm or cool tones. It's never obvious or overdone. It's the kind of shade that will have people saying to you, "Gee, have you been on vacation?" or "Are you in love? You're glowing!"
I won't tell, it'll be our little secret.

Annieytown: My favorite Becca product is the Pressed Shimmer Powder in Gypsy.
I purchased this under the guidance of Cavewoman and Beauty Addict in Sephora. They insisted that I needed it.
Who am I to argue?
This powder looks very intense and slightly frightening in the case. It can remind you of a fresh bruise. It is a pink based plum shade.
The looks are very deceiving. This powder adds a subtle rosy glow to the face with a dash of gold shimmer. The shimmer is very conservative and not overwhelming. It can be entirely work-safe.
I use this as a blush when I need a pink flush to the cheek.
It works very well with my Behnaz lipstick.
Becca's Pressed Shimmer Powder retails for $34.
