40 Days and 40 Nights of Primers

Day 9 of the 40 days of primer brings me to Shiseido. I found at least 5 primer-type products at the Shiseido counter, and the first one I will review is called Shiseido The Makeup Brightening Veil.
It is a very thick, dense cream, and it comes in a specially designed jar with an inner sealing plastic lid. Application can be done with either a sponge or fingers, but plan to add five minutes to your makeup routine, because it is almost impossible to get product out of this jar. There is little brightening effect. It is so thick that getting an even application is next to impossible. The product appears to be beige in the jar but shows no color on the skin. I'm not sure why Shiseido calls this Brightening. Foundation goes on blotchy and streaky because that is the way this primer goes on.
If you go to the Shiseido counter and check out this product, open that extra little lid inside, the one that protects the product from drying out. You will see that the product itself pulls away from the sides of the container. That is because no matter how you try, no matter how well you press down that little inner lid, this primer starts to dry out within a few weeks of purchase and use. I can't imagine being able to use this primer effectively. I tried for a few weeks and finally gave up.
It is maybe one of the worst I've tried. From one of the great skincare companies in the world, I could not be more shocked at how ineffective this primer is. I have to think no one was in the office the day this product was given the go-ahead!
Product rating, 1.
