40 Days and 40 Nights of Primers

Primer #10
In the name of research, I forced myself to head to the Clinique counter to try their primer. I have rarely had any success with anything from Clinique, other than their Gentle Light foundation (which is now discontinued, even more reason for me to just pass by the white lab jackets and minty-green packaging.) I once had a very bad experience with their amazingly popular (a mystery to me) 3-Step program. It took my skin 6 months to recover from that disaster.
But 40 primers in 40 days means I must sacrifice myself, set aside prejudices, try to be objective, give every product a fair chance. I should have known better at the Clinique counter.
Clinique offers a Pore Minimizer as their primer. A small green tube holds this product, easy to squeeze out the right amount, nothing wasted. This is a thicker-type silicone-based product that I could definitely 'feel' on my face. Foundation goes on smoothly, and indeed as the name promises, pores are definitely made less visible.
But it was the following day when I noticed something I never see on my face. The primer had caused me to break out like a teenager in the throes of puberty! I had clogged, inflamed pores all over my nose! Dozens of red dots and whiteheads! Clinique Pore Minimizer gave me the worst breakout I've had in 40 years.
I packed up the tube and sent it to a friend. It is her Holy Grail.
Rating, 1, purely subjective of course, your results may vary.
I'm staying away from the Clinique counter.

Is it Nars?
BTW: I have shamelessly begged Peej for a flea market recap. You know that I must have a play by play of the day.
I *miss* flea market shopping with you.
Clinique always dries out my skin and Pore Minimizer was no exception. I could it working on someone who has very oily skin with noticable pores.
Wow, this is a huge commitment. Cool blog!
I love the 3-step program from Clinique. But the rest of their products make me break out. Weird.
Love reading the primer reviews!
