Lancome announced that as part of its eco-chic initiatives for 2007, the four Lancôme boutiques will go Carbonfree™ on Earth Day, April 22, 2007.

Carbonfund.org, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about climate change and offering straightforward options for climate impact reduction. Carbonfund.org enables individuals or organizations to go "Carbonfree™" by investing on their behalf in climate-friendly projects that involve renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation.

This June, Lancôme is launching Primordiale Cell DefenseTM Double Performance Cell Defense & Skin Perfecting Serum, an antioxidant serum that protects against free radicals caused by pollution, UV exposure and high temperatures. Through Carbonfund.org, Lancôme will plant one tree for each of the first 10,000 bottles of Cell Defense sold. To underscore Lancôme’s commitment, the press launch of Cell Defense has been a "paperless" launch. A password-protected web site has been created from which editors and producers can download press releases and images. As little paper and as few CDs as possible have been used to promote the product to the media.
