I am excited to share the news that one of my favorite NYC perfume pals has recently published a book. Angie is a personal hero to me and Cavewoman. She has the dream job and the spectacular NYC life. Her taste is simply stunning and she looks like she just stepped out of a Norman Parkinson photograph.
She has published a fabulous textbook for the fashionista students. It is a book jammed packed with nuggets on how to break into the fashion industry.
My college degree was Clothing and Textiles. I wish my college textbooks had been this useful and well written. My life after graduation might have been vastly different.
Tales of the Brave from page 161
When Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler was still a design student, he saw legendary Vogue editor Anna Wintour on a plane and chatted her up. She went and hot him an internship at Michael Kors and the rest, as they say, is fashion history. The lesson here is to let your enthusiam shine and don't be afraid to take a few chances. Fortune favors the brave, so just let people know you love what they do and why.
I love what Angie does and hope you do too.
Buy her book at:
If you are a teacher in fashion...scrap your old career text book and make the school purchase this one.
It is helpful and the kids will not sell this text book back to get beer money.
They will keep it and use it as a resource for life after graduation.

Miss S: It is a great textbook. I am tempted to get a hold of my teachers to see if they would like to make the switch.

BTW: I saw the Patti story. Loved it!
