My friend K gifted me with my very own Erika F eyeshadow from Lancome. It has slowly become a cult classic with beauty junkies scrambling to get their hands on it.
What makes it so worthy of pillaging or plain old begging?
It is a mixture of olive green with gold flashes of fire. This might sound like I am describing MAC Sumptious Olive.
But wait...
Once applied on the eye it gets a mushroom-ish taupe quality. The best smokey eyes I have ever accomplished was with this little eyeshadow. It seems to alternate between smoke and green throughout the course of a day.
It is everything and a bag of chips.
There is a catch to this review.
To locate an Erika F shadow is nearly an impossible quest. It is not available in the states and is a challenge to find in Europe.
Mine hails from Germany.

this almost sounds like shu's me 851 - although that can be a little more green...
I finally get to see the much talked about Erica F. Hooray! Mark down the day! Nifty little brush in there ... hard to use or no?
I have heard that the Color Focus Duo Night & Day has a shade equal or similar to Erika F, but I have not been able to compare.
Also, Lancome has just launched in Europe their new mono eyeshadow called Ombre Absolue (square box as opposed to Color Focus round box). You can also find Erika F on this range.
My Erika F. came from England, and I think Lancome's Color Design in Designer is very nearly identical. I paid a small fortune for Erika F., and could kick myself since they came out with Designer.
Another beauty product to covet...love it! Hope you're having a fabulous time in Paris!
I'm going to pull some strings and BEG someone to get me this!!
i wish there was a petition to sign to get lancome to make erika f. international!
The new Ombre Absolue G-40 is supposed to be Erika F. So far this group of shadows isn't available in the US. But I did hear that the Erika F color is included in a quad number 105, which I found on strawberrynet. So, when it arrives, I'll see if Annie and I can compare them! Fingers crossed!

New here... :) any chance for some photos of what it looks like on skin? and thanks to all the commenters for similar shades. I'll be sure to check them out.

Hey cool blog! Check out mine!

I'd love to see what it looks like on as well. It sounds kinda perfect.
Had no trouble finding Erika F in Sweden. I bought mine at a shop called "Kicks", but my guess is that most Lancome-dealers here sell it. Erika F is also included in a gorgeous quad (don't remember which number), so hopefully patti will be very happy!
today i stopped at a lancome store (europe, slovakia) to see whether they have erika f. and surprise surprise, they had it. although, i they didn't have it in the simple round case you posted but instead in a square one with the signature rose molded in the center and the number was 133 G or something like that. and to my astonishment, upon application, it was so shimmery! (i am not sure whether i like that, looked a little tricky to apply not to look like a clown, i'm a bit clumsy in this area, have to admit) but the color was divine! it's actually not green at all, more like greyish khaki...
I wore this for the first time last night and GOOD GRAVY MARTHA! I was suspicious when I bought it as, in the pan, it looks like a fairly pedestrian shimmery grey, but you're right. It really does transform when you put it on into a lovely dusty taupe, and it wasn't too shimmery at all. I will be using this often.
