My Latest Fragrance Lemming:
Champaca by Comme des Garcons

It contains my favorite notes of angelica, cardamom, champaca, along with white pepper, bird pepper (I wonder what this is), tuberose (Uh oh. Not a fan.), white musk, iris wood.

The bottle looks like it was inspired by Devo...which is always a good thing.

It is currently at Luckyscent and retails for a whopping $265.

Has anyone tried this? Tell me everything.

I love the DEVO inspiration part! I haven't tried it though...

Interesting bottle indeed!

BTW, would you like to participate in our game of tag? The rule is that those that get tagged have to reveal the contents of their purse (check my recent post). Maybe you have already done this? But if not, it would be lovely!

Wow, I am opening a page and here it is - one of my absolute favorites!
I am a perfume fanatic and this is one of the most amazing perfumes I have tried in a very long time. I plunged 200+ dollars for a relatively small bottle without thinking once I tested a sample of it.
Champaca starts rather strong, like a good sniff of some tropical flowers mixed with tuberose, when the scent of these flowers is intensified by heat and humidity. Later, though, it develops into this beautiful white floral with some interesting juicy note to it. In the drydown the perfume ventures into this amazingly fresh and lovely smell. It is not sinking into heavy perfuminess that a lot of white florals develop with time. I love that fresh and simply gorgeous drydown. Makes me feel great about spending a fortune on it. LOL
My bottle stands on the toiletries table and I still cannot decide if I love it or hate it. To me, it reminds of some modern interpretation of ancient Hindu temples. And with Champaca being the holy flower of India, the bottle kind of makes sense to me.

delphine: I lived in Akron for a few years...so everything looks devo-ish to me.
The bottle looks very fun. I can not wait to try the juice.

Grayburn: Sounds fun. Can I do it next week?

Anon: Thank you! That is such a lovely description. I wondered if the tuberose would clobber the cardamon and champaca. BTW: Does this scent remind you of Monyette Paris at all?
