All Roads Lead to Youngstown....(quote from Jackie from Jack and Hil)
The city of Youngstown is a scrappy city with tons of character and moxie. It has been in dire economic straits for years and the streets are often rough and dangerous. I will be the first to admit all its faults. I will also be the first to tear your head off if you mock the people or dismiss it as a horrible place. This is my hometown and current city. This is also the hometown of Nanette Lepore.
Seriously.
Mafia Town USA (a nickname given to us from the media) is also the hometown of the woman who oozes girly and flirtatious charm.
Youngstown is tough and often produces prized boxers or street smart lawyers.
It also produced a delightful and colorful fashion designer.
Nanette Lepore's clothes are always whimisical and fun. There are pretty prints, ruffles and bows. The Lepore runway is always high spirited, girly and bubbly.
So when they decided to create a fragrance they had a daunting task.
Could they bottle her charm?
The perfume is a mixture of floral and fruits.
There is a cornucopia of fruits. There is white peach and white cranberry juices. It also contains blackcurrant, orange jasmine and persian lime juice. The floral notes of rose and crushed violet keep it from going into "fruit punch" territory. It ends with amber and indian sandalwood.
I think they managed to capture what Nanette Lepore is all about. This is just uncomplicated fun.
It is girlish, flirty, and kinda pretty.
This is available at Nordstorm. The line includes a parfum version(have never tried it),body lotion, body and hand cream and a shower gel. The packaging is beyond adorable on all.
The fragrance bottle is pink with a floral and polka dot pattern. There is a girl resting on a bed of flowers.
Initially it reminded me of the Lulu Guinness bottle.
The pure parfum bottle is black with a single rose on the front.

Hi Annie! I used to wear this regularly, before I started all this perfume sampling madness. It is pretty and fun, and distinctive. I didn't like the other one she released a few years ago nearly as much.
Have a great weekend!
All right, now I must try this one. When all of the papparazzi was flocking to Heath Ledger's apartment upon word of his death, I can't help admitting that I was proud of the location of Lepore's store in NYC. She had continuous coverage for a week when that story broke. I always want her to do well because she is from Ytown. She is much better than our other hometown girl, Omarosa. LOL!
Melanie! Thanks for the best laugh of the day! O-No-Marosa is an embarrassment!!!
Nanette's designs are so beautiful. I'm glad she's stayed true to her style over the years. It's been a long time coming for Nanette, and she never gave up.

I had no idea Nanette Lepore is from Youngstown! Ohio (and the Cleveland area) sure turns out a bunch of really talented and amazing people!
-- Jamie (originally from the east-side suburbs of Cleveland, OH and still a Cleveland girl at heart!)
I didn't know she was from Ytown either. I was able to go to her show last week, and while it wasn't as good as past ones, it was still a treat since her designs are so fun.
I need to try that parfum.
PS in unrelated news, did you hear that the Netherlands is getting Sephora? Grayburn will have a Sephora. You did it again Annie. I think you now need to wish for world peace :)
Mel and P: Let's hope my mom does not see this post. She loves Omarosa and her family.
Yes! I am so excited that grayburn will get a sephora. Maybe there is hope for a black creme polish with pink glitter! i wish Zoya would have got on board with that for the Chit Chat collection. But there is still hope for China Glaze or Orly...
This my go to perfume.. luvs it
LONG LIVE YOUNGSTOWN!
