MAC New View Collection: Mineralize Skinfinish
I am testing the Light Medium/Natural and Shimmer Shade. This is a creamy golden beige with fabulous shimmer action.
I have been fascinated with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powders due to the fact that they are baked in ovens for 24 hours. I like to imagine that there are MAC easy bake ovens working around the clock churning these gems out.
The powder is comprised of Vitamin A & E derivatives, which help the skin combat the elements and jojoba oil, which quiets and soothes the skin. It feels creamy to the touch and is fairly pigmented. The sparkle factor might "put off" the shimmer haters. It sparks and glistens in the sunlight.
This powder will launch this friday, July 11th.

Thank you for reviewing this! I love your blog because you always have something interesting to say about a new product - so many blogs just re-post the marketing info and it bores me. But not you! Thanks Annie! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Anon! But I am guilty of posting press releases too. I like sneak peeks of new collections and products.
BTW: This powder has 65%/35% Matte Shimmer ratio. I forgot to mention that. Also I love the shimmer part the best...but that goes without saying. LOL
Are these limited edition? I'm curious about the coverage and the degree of shimmer -
Is it me or is MAC running out of ideas? MSF Natural + shimmer = regular MSF in a nude color. LOL I don't know if I'm crazy for thinking that or not...I would only hope that the shimmer side is less chunky and more finely milled than regular MSFs.
I agree with Anonymous - it seems so many blogs you can click your mouse on it that they all got the same press release that day! You put a nice spin on it even if you do get the same release. BTW - I swear Mac comes out with a new collection every 3 days!
I like the MSF a lot so I'm really excited to pick up this compact. I'm all for the shimmer highlight.
Plus, it seems like a good ratio. I'm excited to hear your thoughts on the mineralize duos! I keep thinking I don't want them - but the swatches look good so far.
have you ever tried bare essentials? i've been using there mineral foundation powder for a good while now and i think it's pretty great. can't go back to regular liquid foundation... feels so heavy on the skin! : )
i am a massively huge fan of your blog, of course, but please give us more details on this product. how are you using it? as a finishing powder, as a foundation? are you using both sides? how shimmery/glittery is it? what's the skinny?
the only thing that i don't like about those is that they shatter so easily. I was at school and brought my mineralize compact in my purse and it was all broken apart by the end of the day. I didn't use my purse as a sheild in a wrestling match! there's no reason for it to be so easily destroyed.
::Sigh:: I saved money on this collection. I had a MA at NAC apply this on me and it was "Meh" If you already have a regular nude MSF pass on this one. I wish the shimmer ratio was 50:50 but the one I saw at the counter was closer to 80:20 To be honest. It has the same light coverage of MACs regular MSFs and the shimmer is easily dupeable from one of 1,000 highlighters that I already own. If by chance you are looking for a LIGHT coverage face powder and have never owned a highlighter this may be the product for you. But even then I say splurge on a Guerlain parure compact and Becca Hyawatha pressed shimmer powder. But then again. I'm a crazy over spender when it comes to makeup. ;-) Annie. Thanks for the reviews and for not being a recycled press release machine! You are awesome!
