Wishes for 2009
Every new year I scribble down a few wishes to send through the universe. I have had incredible luck with writing down my wishes until last year.
2008 was a bust really.
The soul mate never arrived or if he did he managed to get occupied with other things. The only wish that came true was a Sephora store for the fabulous blogger Grayburn.
This year I am slightly bitter about my lot in life but will plug along with this wish business.
1. I will not wish for a soul mate.
He can suck it.
This year is all about transformation of the body and soul. I hate bringing up weight loss because it never seems to go very well. But a look and mind overhaul might be the best recipe for a failed crush and low spirits. My only goal is to look improved and different by 2009. I want it and hope everything falls into place.
2. I hope to travel this year. I still want to visit Japan and hope that I can go back to Paris.
3. That Lancome Erika F eyeshadow makes it way back to US shores.
4. To learn how to walk successfully in high heels. This is more of a mission really. I want to be Dita-like in 2009.
5. I guess I better learn how to drive an automobile. This will require someone dragging me kicking and screaming to the local DMV.
6. A liner that survives on my waterline.
7. To learn french. I can not pronounce half my perfume collection.
8. To apply false eyelashes like a professional.
9. To meet Pat McGrath. I just love her. I want to take pictures of her traincases.
10. That Gossip Girl writers put us out of our misery and finally have Chuck and Blair get together.

i share your wishes for #4, #7 and #10, and will maybe include a resolution to better my posture. as for #1, i am sure a soulmate is out there whether you wish for him or not -- you are a wonderful person annie and you are going to find someone just as wonderful :)

It feels like he got lost or hit by a bus. I think this year was hard because I really felt he was coming. I can not explain it away.
I am going to try to improve my posture too. I notice my slouching is getting worse!!!

I wish for a soul mate (or at least someone warm haha).
I hope to find the perfect way to apply make up to my small, down-turned eyes, which find themselves hidden behind glasses.
I hope to figure out my future (or at least where I will live in Winter 09).
And I hope for PEACE and cheap Chanel finds for everyone :)
Since you won't wish for a soulmate for yourself I will wish(pray) for one for you. I think he will find you in an unexpected way.
For myself I wish for better discipline with eating and exercise, travel and learning something new this year. Happy New Year!
I share #2, #4 and #8. I'd add a wish to gain weight in 09. I hate being a 00. I've been skinny my entire life and I'm sick of having such difficulty buying pants that fit. I have a wish that my soulmate/boyfriend of three years will suddenly decide he wants kids, like I do, but I don't see that ever happening, so I guess my real wish is that I'll be able to come up with the strength to break up with the person I love the most in the world. Or to not want kids anymore.
Annie, my dear friend, my wish is many more wonderful and fun-filled trips to NY for us in the new year with our fabulous NY friends! The Hilton keeps sending me emails for us to return soon!
I don't have much to add to your list of wishes, although I do hope that a green Marc Jacobs multipocket finds its way to you in 2009!

I hear ya on the soul mate factor. I was hoping for the same thing in 2008, even my horoscope in Glamour said I would find love - NOT! I am totally with you on improving the mind and body in'09.

My wish for 2009 would be for my career to take a new step/s upwards. I also would like to take up fresh challenges in learning new language/s (French/Italian/Spanish), enroll in that makeup artistry course that I've been eyeing for the past 2 years and finally do my CPA already!
I'd also like to keep up with my fitness and take it just that much further; do the City to Bay run again but finish with a better time .
Put me with the other gals in wishing for your soulmate too! As for beauty wishes...
...NYC trip with a day (minimum) devoted to beauty and brands I can't get in my city (Poppy King, Caron, Edward Bess, Serge Lutens ... the list is long, maybe I should fly up 2-3 days before hubby)
...MAC makes more colors for their Penultimate eye liner
...Dior brings back Maximeyes
...2 or 3 like-new jars of Amber Nude body cream are **discovered** at my Lauder counter
...My local Dillards continues to expand the beauty lines
One more wish ... that all the beauty SAs in my city will **finally** begin reading Blogdorf! Thanks for being as great as you are, Blogdorf Gals!!

Hi Ann! Happy belated birthday! Here's wishing you the best in '09! My wish is for focus in my life in 2009! A big part of it is - you guessed it - focus on improving my body (and health!) Seems like we both have wished for this for a long time! 2-1/2 days in - so far, so good. I thought I was out of shape in college. You should see me now! Yikes! I need to FOCUS on it! I haven't had a powder puff moment in a long time, but if I don't do something about my body, I can see one coming on soon! Take care!

I hear ya on many of your wishes but I cannot seem able to put together my own this year. 2009 will be such a testing year for me personally so I'm kinda nervous.
I still cannot believe that Sephora is actually here and I think of you every time I step inside. You should have been the one to cut the ribbon for all 11 store opening ceremonies.

Happy Birthday New Year's Girl!!
I hope that my notebook (stolen in april 2008) will be found...It is so important for me: it contains the two novels I was writing, and more personal stuff I'm very bound to. I can say that all my dreams and hopes for the future were in it, and since I've lost it I can not feel more "myself" as I did.
I've lost the true me, the most real and sincere part of my soul, which one that most people don't even know. I feel really sad, lost, "faded". I don't even believe in christmas anymore, or in new year's resolutions....Pleas, give me back my notebook, it hasn't any value for you who steal it from me...(it's an old bad-working pc ), but it is ALL for me.
