Moon Over Blogdorf: Jill Stuart's Illuminance Eyes in Dazzling Moon
All lemmings can be traced back to the online beauty juggernaut called Makeupalley. This is like an opium den for beauty addicts and junkies. Every Makeupalley board has their specific beauty drug of choice. The perfume crowd salivate over the new Serge Luten's release. The nail girls talk about the Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes in reverent tones. The fashion gang loves J Crew so much that it is often referred to as "JCrack". The makeup crew has board hiccups when a new MAC collection is launched.
Each board on Makeupalley has different cliques and gangs. For the most part, the boards are friendly and open to newcomers. But there are groups that emerge that can mimic your high school cafeteria.
So who do I think is the coolest group on the makeup board?
The muaers who are into the Japanese makeup brands. Their high school equivalent is the bad girls who smoke behind the gym and date the hottest guys in town. They are the Pink Siths of the world.
I can finally hold my head high in the cool mua circles. I am the proud owner of a Jill Stuart eye shadow palette. Everything that has been written about Jill Stuart cosmetics is 100% true. Pigment and shimmer power can not be matched by anyone. The texture is buttery smooth.
My palette came straight from the shores of Japan. I was very lucky to have a good friend and the very first beauty blogger Koneko do a custom purchase for me. I gave her no direction. All I said was "pick the best one with a whole lot of shimmer fire".
Koneko selected the most magnificent palette called Dazzling Moon. It is slightly unique among the Jill Stuart palettes. It does not have a pinkish shade in the mix. There is a silver fox shimmer with a metallic tint of pale gray, a sheer cold lavender that relects blue, an iris tinged blue and a sooty black with multi-colored shimmer sparks. All infused with a glittery fire that surpasses any US brand.
Jill Stuart Cosmetics are not available in the United States. You can order from these online sources: http://ichibankao.com/default.aspx

There are other Illuminance palettes.
The others are:
#01 Jewel Dress
#02 Fantastic Light
#03 Brocade Gold
#04 Aqua Crystal
#06 Blossoming Shine
#07 Layered Gem
#08 Dazzling Moon

That palette is a dream come true! Stunning!
ooooohhhh pretty! Thank you for the great pictures of these. I have been quite curious since pictures started hitting the blogs.
These colors look like what the Bobbi Brown Chrome palette wanted to be. Don't get me wrong, I do like my Chrome palette, but this is the level of color I really wanted.
That is one beautiful palette and unique b/c it has no pink in it. TY for the reference but some times I feel like the poseur that hangs with the cool kids of Japanese MU. They tolerate me because I don't ask for much and I kiss up to them. But thanks for thinking I'm cool none the less. I might need to get this palette as my pink shadow craze has subsided. BTW. I find that these shadows apply better w/ a sponge applicator than a brush.
What a beautiful palette! Rouge Deluxe often show JS's beautiful, drool worthy palettes. Why is it that the Japanese seem to be light years ahead of us when it comes to innovative colors and textures? Is it because the FDA keeps certain ingredients out of US cosmetics? Hmmm . . .
I have a couple JS palettes but not this one, your friend made a great choice. Haha, I loved your opinion on MUA, I actually stay away from MUA as much as possible.
Wow! Those colors and pigmentations are to DIE for... not to mention the packaging itself! It's ashame they don't sell in the US... shipping rates over seas are a pain!
This is your best post in a long time. I can *feel* the love. I'm glad you got your blogging mojo back--and all it took was a little Japanese shimmah!
Ooooooooooo. Aaahhhh!!
i had a chance to try out some JS eye shadow palettes recently. the packaging is beautiful but i feel the content isn't all that great. they are super sheer and more sutible for your skin tone. many colours won't show on my skin tone. what a shame.
but still, i love looking at its stunning packaging. it's like a princess' collection.
I miss Koneko's blog. Does she have another one now?

Got the same palette as you and love every single JS palette to bits!
nice palette. this one complete my wishlist beauty complements.
I love this palette too, the packaging looks so beautiful. I have the jelly eyeshadow as well, but it's a bit too shimmery for me.
