Happy Earth Day!
Lancome's Juicy Tubes are celebrating their 10th Bday! In a few short years...that lippie will be going through the teenage years! Expect some angst and rebellion!
I kid. I kid.
Anyway...to celebrate this beauty birthday and earth day, Lancome has launched Juicy Tubes 100% Natural Origin, a limited-edition collection with honey as its main ingredient. The formula, flavors and pigments are 100% natural origin and preservative-free.
The ingredients are Hungarian honey, royal jelly extract, beeswax and shea butter. The flavors are
vanilla, apricot and raspberry. The colors are
vanilla, apricot and raspberry. The colors are
Pink Precious, Rose Pretty,Blushing Beauty and Sheerfully Sweet. They give you just a hint of color and a whole lot of shine. They retail for $18 and are currently available at your local Lancome counter and lancome-usa.com
For Earth Day 2010, it was a natural fit to partner with Lancôme spokesmodel and environmentalist Elettra Wiedemann’s charity, Justonefrickinday.com. Its mission is to unify and concentrate available resources onto a small number of special charity projects around the world. By logging on its website, you can calculate and donate just one day of your daily pay to make a difference. The charity’s latest project will raise funds to help install Solar Electric Panels that will provide sustainable power to a hospital in one of world’s poorest countries, Burundi.
Also, from April 22nd through April 25th, anyone who purchases Juicy Tubes 100% Natural Origin at the Lancôme Boutique on the Upper West Side in NYC will receive a complimentary limited edition tee. The T-shirts were created by House of Diehl, Rag & Bone, Giambattista Valli, Rogan, Chris Benz and Phillip Lim, to help champion Elettra’s cause!
Lancôme will also make a donation to http://justonefrickinday.com/ to kick off this special Earth Day offering.
I will be giving away a Juicy Tube gloss(Blushing Beauty) and a t-shirt courtesy of Lancome.
Tell us what you do to help conserve the planet's resources.
My parents have been composting since the 1970s.
We compost everything from coffee grounds to egg shells.

We compost too, plus we have put in more inuslation and bought a more efficient furnace. We recycle everything and are slowly replacing all the lawns with drought-tolerant plants. I know there is more we could do, but we're making progress!
Thanks for the earth day post! Definitely a cause to get behind!
My husband and I have been keeping house without harsh commercial cleaners for 7 years now. We are firmly convinced that all of life's ills can be taken care of with vinegar, baking soda, vegetable-oil based liquid soap, borax and washing soda.
And some drops of essential oils, to keep things smelling pretty.
I take quick showers, recycle and I avoid plastic bags. In New York, shopkeepers will put anything in a plastic bag, even a can of soda. And they'll double-bag like crazy. I carry a roll-up bag in my purse and use it for groceries and other purchases. All these things are small, but if we everybody did these things, it would make a mighty difference.
Wow, I didn't know our honey was so special! But it's good to know that Lancome thinks so, though I always have the benefit of doubt with these ad copies..did they really put Hungarian honey in there or it's just bs to make it sound more exotic?
Anyways, I guess I'll go out to the kitchen now to make some tea with lemon and the world famous honey to cure my sore throat:)
And I'm not eligible I guess, but one of my green actions is unplugging unused rechargers (mine&co-workers')
I buy as much as I can second hand.
Bop, bop, bop, b-bop, bop, bop, bop, bop (this is Planet Earth).
I compost, take cloth bags to the supermarket (which secretly is just so I can buy cute totes) and use a refillable metal water bottle.
But my biggest recycling effort was using our totaled Chevy truck bed for a flower bed instead of putting it in a landfill. Which coincidentally, I blogged about today:
http://weheartthis.com/2010/04/21/car-accident-totaled-truck-best-garden-ever/
I always use reusable totes when I go the store. I won't accept a plastic bag.
I keep multiple reusable bags in my car to make sure I never forget them! Another thing I love to do is pick up recyclable items from our church to recycle at home... because their waste management doesn't take recycling! (The church is out in the country...) Our recycling bin at home is always stuffed to the max because of this, but it makes me happy!
Showers with the hubby are sweet AND saving water. ;D
Recycle, obviously. Also I always turn the water off while brushing my teeth and while shaving in the shower. I also reuse the paper bags I get from shopping and reuse plastic bags for trash.
Our county started a recycling program this year and most everyone on our block signed up. My husband and I grwo almost all of our vegeatables year round, we compost and use absolutely no pesticides or chemicals...all natural and organic. We also enthusiastically support our local health food co-op. Happy Green Day...my favorite color!!
As it hasn't been mentioned yet, I will go with the classic turning off of lights when I'm not in a room. I also unplug the TV when I'm on vacation.
We recycle, drive a hybrid and I use those reusable grocery bags. I'd love to start composting! Someday...

I use florescent lights throughout the house and ever since the water shortage in the late '70's i don't flush the toilet at night. It's not as gross as it sounds...
And I use reusable bags at the store whenever possible.
My parents conserved energy, water, paper etc...and composted too. I have a fruit garden, vegetable garden, follow all they did and I'm volunteering with my children at parks and community based earth-friendly activities. We enjoy it and feel good too :)

I am a vegan who always carries a reusable water bottle and reusable shopping bags.
I walk and bike instead of driving. You're saving the earth and getting exercise :)
Thanks for the giveaway!
I eat vegetarian whenever possible; reducing meat consumption saves tons of water, grain, corn, and soy, and cuts down on greenhouse gas emission.
Thanks for the earth day post :).Ive always wanted to compost! I wrote a paper on the subject a few years back. Anywho my family has a green garden! rabbit poop fertilizer!
I compost as well, recycle what I can, and plant a vegetable garden in the summer. I also unplug appliances not in use (like the coffee maker, blow dryer, etc) because they leech electricity when plugged in even if not on. I also use a clothesline in nice weather to dry my clothes - and they smell sooooo good! And I shop for most of my family's clothes from Goodwill!

Recycle bottles whenever i can. When im walking on the street with a bottle i literally look for a recycling bin and it just never occurred to me to throw it into a regular bin.
I have yet to compost (I always wanted to, my friend when i was younger used to and I thought it was the coolest thing!)
I use reusable grocery bags, take much shorter showers (bummer, but what can you do?), monitor our electricity use, and try to shop ecologically responsible brands.
Also I take part in our local beach cleanups! It's surprisingly a lot of fun to sort through the trash on the beaches (with gloves and poles of course, haha). I highly recommend it!

I only do laundry once a week and cram a lot of stuff in there. I also recycle a lot. Thanks. I'm leaving my blogger indentity--so I hope that counts as leaving my email
We leave the power off during the day ( even if i'm here) also we plant gardens all over our yard.
I try to walk any time I can, plus I recycle everything! I recycle plastic bags, cans, bottles, etc. It makes me feel like I'm helping just a little. :)
I use recyclable totes that I bought from costco to bag my groceries instead of the plastic they give at the stores. I also hand wash a lot of my clothes with eco friendly detergent.

my parents are also into composting! it is good for our garden. personally, i hardly ever use a/c during summer- i hate cold air in the house

I keep my lights off all day and keep my air/heat off as long as I can stand it. I try to remember to bring my reusaBle bags and unplug what is not in use. Also cut makeup wipes or extra large cotton balls for more uses.
I recycle whenever I can, and I conserve electricity by turning off lights and unplugging appliances. I also try to use more earth-friendly cleaning products.

I use reusable bags at the store, and when I do get plastic bags, I make sure to reuse them. I don't use paper towels or napkins, using cloth instead. I use environmentally friendly detergents. And I'm working on aditional things all the time. Thanks for the giveaway!
We recycle, use reusable grocery bags, use reusable water bottles & coffee mugs, hang our laundry out to dry, clean up our river greenway when we walk and I actually wash out my plastic sandwich baggies. I can make a box last 6 months!
I don't do dairy or red meat, and am steadily heading toward being ovo-vegetarian, on the road to vegan. I think it will be about another year and I'll be there. I feel great, and have lost 9 pounds without much fuss. Also, the metal water bottle, and roll up bag are always with me. Happy Earth Day!
I do little things like use reusable shopping bags, recycle everything I can, donate, use a water filter and reusable bottle, use energy efficient bulbs, and carpool. These things may seem simple, but if everybody did them, think of how much better our planet would be!
Always, always shop with reusable totes, no plastic bags! also, we always use reusable water bottles and a filter...You know, for the production of 1 plastic bottle 80 l of water are being used?
Recently, we also started composting for my little garden, on top of the usual recycling we do.
Always shop with reusable totes, and we have a filter and reusable water bottles, so we never buy water bottles..did you know that for the production of 1 plastic bottle 80 l of water are used!
I unplug chargers when not in use, replaced all my light bulbs w/energy efficient ones, run my clothes dryer @ off-peak hrs and turn off the water when brushing my teeth.
Thanks for the great post -- just discovered yr blog, love it ;-)
As a new mom, I am proud to be using reusable, cloth diapers on my baby. Despite what people say about the mess and the hassle, it is only a little extra work and a couple more loads of laundry each week. More importantly, I am reducing my impact so that my son can grow up in a world that is clean and beautiful. And that is the best feeling of all.
Happy Earth Day!
I do my share to keep the planet healthy by not eating meat! Factory farmed meat, produces several environmentally unfriendly effects - but more importantly, I do my part by encouraging the people in my life to eat less meat, and more organic produce!
I read your blog everyday, keep up the good work.
Cheers,
Rachel

i do 70% of my grocery shopping at our local farmer's market, to ensure that I am purchasing local foods as much as possible. I also use reusable shopping bags and do not buy bottle water.
I definitely try my hardest to recycle and to conserve water. I have started to take shorter showers, and instead of using plastic water bottles I have a Sigg that I can refill at our water refill stations! I also use reusable bags whenever I go to the grocery store because any little bit does help! whatever it takes to reduce our carbon footprints im all for! GO greeen :D
We started recycling paper and greens this year!
Wow, it's been 10 years already!
Love those juicy tubes, they're so much fun to wear!!
xoxo
started composting this in 2010.
