40 Days and 40 Nights of Primers

Primer #12 is the second of the Lorac products that I have tested. It is a pearly-white liquid in a pump bottle, and it is called Luminizer L1. This product is not just a base for your foundation but also can be used over top, as a highlighter.
When I pumped out a bit of the product, it was difficult to just pump out a dab, way way too much came out of the pump and it was impossible to control how much came out. I just don't like these pumps that give too much product. That being said, smoothing out this white frosty liquid is difficult. It does not seem thick at all, but it seems to separate on the skin, there are areas where the pearly white seems to chunk up, and areas where it seems as if it's just clear. I am not sure how it can be that a liquid can chunk up like that, but it did.
Applying foundation over top seemed to make the uneven application of the primer look worse. The product sunk into my pores and emphasized every line and flaw. Foundation appeared streaky and uneven. I've used many of these pearlized primers in my testing (see the one for Prescriptives Magic, a far, far superior product than this Lorac) and I know that with the right formula, this type of primer can be beautiful. Not the Lorac. Again, I like Shaw's theory, but her formulas could use a bit of tweaking.
Product rating, 1.

I am loving all of the primer reviews!!! Keep them coming! Will there be a re-cap at the end?
Have you thought about mascara as your next product to review?
oooh Mary---mascara that is an excellent idea.
Hi P!
I'm loving the primer reviews also! You saved me, I have been having good luck with Lorac's foundation & was going to try the primer, so thanks!
Oh my gosh M! Patti(cavewoman),Leah(griffie) and I were just discussing the next beauty projects. Mascara was the first one mentioned. Patti also discussed a week of "the perfect red lipsticks". The recap is a very good idea. On the 40th day there will be a primer score recap.
PS: You gotta go to luckyscent soon! I am dyin to know about holy champaca perfume. I am lemming it unsniffed.
Peej: It is an excellent idea. Help me peer pressure Mary into visiting luckyscent soon.
))C((
We missed you at the last cleveland get together. Mark the day after easter off. P and I are going on an "post-lent buying bonanza".
BTW Everyone: If anyone has any other ideas for future beauty reviews/projects please post ideas in the comments.
The perfect red lipstick? I used to wear a shade from Chanel called "Runway Red" but they haven't made it in years - it was a great red with a hint of orange sparkle. Makes me wanna cry thinking about it not being around anymore.
I'm feeling the pressure to go to luckyscent but I need a list of stuff to check out, what to look for etc. - You should email me at fineartlady(at)yahoo(dot)com
Mary: I am going to ask cavewoman to post on mua to see if there is anyone making a red lipstick with orange sparkle. Those gals might have excellent suggestions. I love a beauty hunt/challenge.
I will start compiling the luckyscent list.
First perfume: Holy Champa.
This is my #1 unsniffed lemming.

To Fightin' Mad Mary, Annie and I went to the Chanel counter to check for you, and the SA had not even heard the name Runway Red. She showed us a few reds. It's all YOUR fault that now I must have Champagne Red for myself. Please go try that one. It's gorgeous. Not your orange sparkles, but it is shimmery and beautiful!
Next chance I get, I'll be sure to look for the Champagne Red. Good thing they named it something easy to remember!
