Rock The Gloss Challenge for Friday August 18th 2006:
I don’t know how she did it. Fire
She was shaking all over.
It took her hours to put her make-up on.
But she did it.
Even the false eye-lashes.
She ordered gin with triplelimes.
Then a limosine.
Everyone knew she was the real heroine of
Blonde on Blonde.
oh it isn’t fair
oh it isn’t fair
how her ermine hair
turned men around
she was white on white
so blonde on blonde
and her long long legs
how I used to beg to dance with her
but I never had a chance with her
oh it isn’t fair
how her ermine hair used to swing so nice
used to cut the air
how all the men used to dance with her---Patti Smith
I am wearing MAC Scanty with Oyster Girl over it. Perfect lippie for a smokey eye look.
What is your lippie today? How is this challenge working for you?
Are you making a dent in your collection?

Good morning!
Today I'm wearing one of my favorite drug-store cosmetics: NYC Color gloss & liner duo in Teaberry Duet.
This challenge is definitely encouraging me to revisit some lip products that have gotten pushed (for no real reason) to the back of my drawer!
Wonderful pic of Edie and Patti Smith has long been one of my heroes!!!
today is Vincent Longo Chika Mokita with Sue Devitt Talitha gloss.
havea wonderful weekend, Sara
I'm loving this challenge - it's forcing me to dig deep and find some beautiful colors that I'd forgotten all about!
Today's lip is simple: MAC Lipglass (one of the limited editions - the one with the bronze top ... I think it was last year's summer collection) in Magnetique. A beautiful fuschia. It looks awesome with my soft pink blush, which is CARGO blush in Panama, incidentally, which looks really bright in the pan, but is much softer on me.
toya, I need that magnetique!!
hi annie!
I'm wearing Milani l/s in Royal Ruby. I'm transitioning into my fall colors a little. Royal ruby is dark red with shimmer and blue undertones but looks slightly matte when I applied. I totally have fell in love with milani lipsticks.
I so love reading all the comments here. They are helping me think of comparable lippie combos.
Today is basically a no-makeup day for me (please don't gasp!), but I did apply Estee's High Gloss in Honey before I took out the trash.
I think I have a problem!
Miss Manners is a slacker.
Earlier this week she dumped out her entire purse in desperation to search for her missing car keys and only one lipgloss made it out of the junkpile and into the purse. It was MAC Pink Grapefruit Lipglass, and that's what's on her lips once again today.
She does ask forgiveness for her uncharacteristic slackerhood, because this is her busiest work week of the year. She will dig deep into the lipstick archives next week to rock the gloss.
Lola l/s in Paris with Lola gloss in Muse. Almost forgot that I had them.
I'm home sick from work today (saw the doc, got my antibiotics for a bronchial infection, so don't worry, it's taken care of) but just for you I decided to put some lipstick on: Chanel's Tornado, which is such a perfect reddish pink (or pinkish red) that I'm shocked I neglect it so much.
Today I wore Nars Schiap lipstick and MAC Pink Poodle gloss. I am liking this hot fuschia lip look these days.
)))Stanzi(((
I am loving the challenge for that reason too.
Pattyg: Love the pic!
It is hard. I have to stop myself from reaching for the YSL glosses.
Thanks Sara!
Tell me more about that gloss when you get the chance.
Toya: I missed out on that lipglass. I hate when I do that! Those MAC collections move so darn fast.
BTW: I checked out the Cliff and Claire lipgloss at a NYC Sephora. I told cavewoman I had to visit the counter because I wanted to see Toya's gloss. The funny thing was....she knew exactly who and what I was talking about.
That gloss was amazing. That hazel color was gorgeous and unique. I could not pull it off but I still just wanted to own it.
rebelle: Now that sounds like an amazing red. That is going on the list.
teri: me too!
I love those high glosses. That is the best Lauder makeup product.
Miss Manners: I love that grapefruit gloss! I can not wait for you to play in your archives.
veronica: I really regret not spending time in the Lola section at Sephora. Tell me more about muse and paris. What are they like?
tbone: I am glad that you went to the Doc. I will worry less.
An ohio girl needs a gloss named Tornado.
Griffie: OMG! You have to bring that the next time we have lunch. I have always wanted that one.
P: It looks great one you!!!!
LOL! Isn't awesome that we come to "know" each other on these blogs? I love seeing the same names in the comments on the various beauty blogs! Too bad the Cliff and Clair duo didn't work for you - it's one of my favorites.
I've wanted to try the Tom Ford collections - but I'm scared that none of those colors will work on a brown-skinned beauty. What say you?
