There will be no gloss challenge on Sunday. I am leaving for the Rubber City(aka Akron Ohio) to attend an event at the Akron Public Library. I am on a panel to speak on blogs. Wish me luck because I avoid any and all public speaking.

When I think of Akron Ohio I think of car tires, but holding out a tiny hoope that it's something more makeup related?

You really have covered lips - which is very important too in out times and culture. Nonetheless, and since you are fashions realted too I am asking both you and your readers several prepared questions.
This is done in order for me to form a consenuss of what is really ahppening within the recent trends in fashions-especially in lue of the European and Asian influences.

Fashions and recents trends have indicated there is now real debate. No this is not being done in a classical sense within an academic setting. This one is being addressed on the runways a various other walkways of fashion shows in which beautiful models parades with the language of style, and the image they convery dressed on their lovely forms.
Top nudity has now appeared, and with more frequency, and with more open areas of the pelvis regions are now coming in to their own, along with their established sales nitches. This coupled with a new but nervous era of post-feminism one has to really have to look at what this entails to both womyns options and sociocultural safety.
Retros are now becoming stronger too! And thus one also has to ask .." why during this time and era ?" Is this a defensive retreat, or one in which this too is to preserve womyn's options? All the while the fashion style middle of these two extremes the center is likewise being influenced by both directions.
All this during a time in which womyn options and freedoms are rapid'ly increasing too. No longer being held back by any of the past taboos, the lessening of sexual violence, or even for that fact by physical - sexual related limitiations either.
Thus this is sent to initiate a focus in which to trigger discussions so everyone, especically men, can begin to know whats on the future horizons as a result. Is there another human frontier to be conquered ? Or are we maturing as a speicies ?

Annie, I am sure that the event was a great success and everyone who went to hear you left very much wiser! =) I was cheering you on in IL!
Unfortunately, I have terrible news to share about the Chantecaille palette. It was... confiscated!!! By a very mean, non-sympathetic security creature. I guess it's for the good of all passengers, but... sniff! The mean side of me thinks she wanted it for herself.
When I think of Akron, well I remember that month I spent in the hospital there.
But I also remember the Goodyear Blimp!
Big important question is ... can you take lip gloss like this on an airplane? I got hassled for some lousy lip balm on Saturday and I'm afraid to take anything expensive of good that I might have to toss.
Cybele: Do not take this palette or anything like it in your carry on. Please read Koneko's post above. I would be sick if someone took away my Chantecaille palette and tossed it. It makes me shudder.
My advice is to not take anything but a cheap balm. If they toss it your are only out a few dollars. You also might want to consider calling your airline to see what the rules are. They appear to be constantly changing.
