I have for years been devoted to Lancome and L'oreal mascaras (my motto was, if it ain't broke, don't fix it). However, as of late I have been very bored with the same sticks over and over again. While walking through Target I saw massive displays for Cover Girl and thought, "Has anyone taken CG seriously since Christy Brinkley days?". Still, I was drawing into the shocking large barrels of the mascara. Needing a brown/black, and loving the bold orange packaging, I decided to try it.
I have never been so impressed with a mascara in all of my life. I cannot understand one negative review about this product. It requires very little to produce perfectly seperated lashes. Use a light hand. I have less finagling than with the clumping, 5 applications of the brands I had been loyal too.
My only request is that they make a waterproof version.
I picked up a sample of Silver Factory at a local boutique last week; such an interesting fragrance! I need to try it out on my skin (I only sniffed it on paper, then took the sample home), though, but I really liked it in the boutique.
CG LashBlast is the best mascara ever--and I have tried (what feels like) every kind. Why don't you like it?
Voting for: Lancome Courbe Virtuous mascara and the Clinique line of Men's Skincare.
Well - just my two cents...but since I am the president of Clark's Botanicals, I would love to send you samples to try our line before judging.
I love your blog!
what does "blech" mean?
I agree with some of your pics and disagree with others. The Chanel Sublimage eye cream is the best I have ever tried...winner hands down. Everything I have ever used from Clinique including the eyecreams and the antioxidant rescue has been terrible. I seriously don't know why they keep showing winners in InStyle and Allure's polls. As for the drugstore category.....I was surprised to see Loreal Infalible on there. I would have thought that if one were to pick any drugstore lippie that the Juicy Tube knockoff or the Rimmel lipsticks would have had a chance on the survey. I agree with the picks mascaras but I would have liked to have seen YSL faux cils up there (my current fave). I agree with you a few posts ago when you were talking about nothing comming close to your Stephane Marais. His comb mascara and foundations were nothing short of perfection. It's a indie line I will always miss. As far as other indie lines I would have liked to have seen Kate Somerville up there for skincare. My favorite beauty product lately has been her K8 peptide cream. Nothing, not even prescription products or more expensive "miracle broth" La Mer have produced these results. I would expect that the major companies (Estee Lauder) and the like are sponsoring the survey so naturally some of their pics would win.
Clark's Botanicals is surprisingly effective. I have been using the anti-puff eye cream for a week now, and it is already starting to make a difference. I have a ridiculous schedule, and rarely get more than 7 hours of sleep, and people have been complimenting me on how well rested I look. I also get some stress induced breakouts on my face, and the skin clearing face and body wash has worked wonders over the past few weeks of use. It doesn't dry out my skin, and gently exfoliates it for a smooth finish. I strongly reccomend these products. The best part is that they do not have any harsh parabens or preservatives (which I greatly appreciate, being a health-nut and all) that usually strip my skin of its natural oils and moisture, making it look dull.
Clark's Botanicals is the coolest new brand. My favorite product is the Youth Serum. It has the greatest texture and scent, and of course, it also makes me feeling younger. I do have to say the best part of the brand though is the packaging, it is so chic!!
I use so many of these and love them., cool. I ,too love Lash Blast, but in general love CG's mascaras.
The EL lipsticks, Clinique City Sheer Block, Olay Mousse cleanser and Neutrogena Sunblock, BB Metallics are all favs. and Paint Pots of course :)
interesting to see who wins it all.
Oh, Jemma Kidd. I stopped by that counter at Bergdorf's once, and the the single worst experience of my life. The service was awful and the salespeople didn't even seem interested in their products. I bought a lipgloss (VERY sticky and thick) but every time I use it I think about that terrible experience. Should I give it another try? Has anyone else had good luck with it?
Jemma should definitely win the niche category! :)

um...what is CEW?
Lemming the Tom Ford Body Oil now. I felt that while the fragrance was a bit too strong, with too much "presence" for everyday, it was still very unusual and beautiful in a weird way. I really wanted to see it in a different formulation - like finishing oil spray.
I haven't tried the EL pore minimizer but I've tried nearly every other one on the market...NOTHING has done ANYTHING to my pores. I always feel funny asking to test skin care items though, and I really don't want to pay for this without trying it. Is it worth a purchase anyway?
This is a great list! There are a lot of big named companies.
