July's Lucky
It has been several months since I flipped for a Lucky issue. In fact I have not used my sticky tabs to mark up the pages. This issue renewed my crush on Lucky and jump started many lemmings.
The first ad that caught my eye was for CoverGirl. Those bright eye shadow palettes look fun and Galliano-ish.
Page 46: The cotton Lesley dress. It made me think of Betsy from Fashion is Spinach.
Page 68: The silk star dress on Zooey Deschanel and the delicate bracelet from Moss Mills.
Page 75: I still have a tester tube for the Armani Face Fabric. I have not tried it yet. I think the powdery finish is scaring me.
Page 76: The new Jo Malone fragrance(Lotus Blossom and Water Lily) is fantastic.
Page 80: Sachajuan Ocean Mist...I must have this! "It mocks the sea salt effect-the roughed-up, lots of body and texture look-without the dryness of other ocean spray"
Page 80: The Jo Malone Vitamin E body treatment. I am into scrubs right now.
Page 82: Chantecaille Vital Essence and Lancome's High Resolution Collaser-5x Anti-Wrinkle Serum(Did they say rice peptides?I love peptides!)
Page 86: I want that darn Tria.
Page 86: I have never even heard of the Softsheen-Carson Magic Shave Shaving Powder! My co-worker stated that this product smells to high heaven but it works.
Page 88: I want Whish Flawless Bump Fighter and Completely Bare Bikini Bump Blaster.
Page 88: The No!No! Zapper. I am following Beauty Addict's posts on this product.

Page 103: The baby doll tank from JCPenney. I went searched online with no success.

The makeup used on Zooey Deschanel was Shiseido.
The shimmering lipstick in SL16,eyeshadow duo in violet glitz, Extra Length mascara in black, and accentuating color stick in S5 Rosy Flush.
I love their choice of covergirl.
I think Zooey is so beautiful. Very Loretta Young-like.
Lucky readers can win the dress that was featured on the cover along with the makeup. 50 readers can win the Accentuating Color Stick in S5 Rosy Flush.

Hi Annie!
I love your blog. Tria is sooooo worth the money. I got it about 5 month ago and now happily hairless! I got it online at www.beautyisskindeep.com, they stock it for about £100 (roughly $200) below RRP, it might be worth checking out I'm not sure what the US RRP is. This is simply the best piece of kit I ever bought. I'm a bit like you, fair skin (olive undertone) and dark hair, my leg hair used to be (ha! not anymore!) dark and quite coarse it used to be hell to shave (stumps show below the skin!). With Tria I got rid of it completely after the 5th session. And now that I don't shave, wax, etc the skin on my legs is so soft and silky, no more dryness, etc. Get one, you won't regret it!
I devoured my Lucky last night and agree with most of your Must Haves -- love the Zoe dress and birdie bracelet too, so sweet!
I also flagged the Carson Soft Sheen. I Googled it the other day, and apparently it's one of a line of products designed for African American men. And it's only $2! I have to say, though, that if it DOES work so well, I can't help but be skeptical of how harsh the chemicals might be. Would love it if someone tested and reviewed it on her blog... hint, hint. ;)
There's also those new in-shower depilatories that Nair has come out with that I might give a try. Not yet willing to shell out the big bucks for any of those zap tools.
I love Zooey's makeup! She looks so gorgeous in that photo.
I already bought the Carson Magic Shave Shaving Powder, but haven't tried it yet. Once I do, I'll send an update. :)
Hi,
you are my go-to blog everyday!! Love it!
Zooey is
ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! Loved her in Elf. She has a great singing voice. Just wished she was in more movies.
you are too good! i totally marked the "lesley" dress with one of those little "yes!" tags. it's too cute!
{for the record, i also tagged the shoshanna bikini on p. 37 (cute and flowery), the turquoise bead ring on p. 96 (adorable and not overly expensive!) and the benefit posietint on p. 80 (omg! is it good?)} but, i'd have to say it was a pretty light month, tagging-wise, for me. on a really great issue, i've got tons of markers sticking out and flapping around.}
Magic Shave is a miracle worker for peeps that get ingrown hairs when they shave. Reminds of my older male cousins that used to go the barber shop and get it applied because shaving or razoring was to harsh for their curly hair and skin.
And it does smells like high hell, like a relaxer.
This month's Lucky is delicious. I bought it without even flipping through it first.
FYI there is also a cream version of the Magic powder that is a little less messy to deal with. ;)
I go in spurts with Lucky. Love it, meh. Love it again, meh again. I'll pick this one up.
It is splendid blog. I am studied.

Another site I read refers to the Carson stuff as "magic cooch powder." It does work--but it is so highly caustic I would be worried about having it so close to my ladyparts. Seriously. That can't be good for you.
I grabbed my Lucky and used your post to guide me. Loved your choices.
I also loved the star chiffon dress Zooey's wearing, way out of my price range though. And i'm interested in checking out Softsheen-Carson shave powder as well. Other things i'm lemming: pg 73: Benefit Benetint pocket pal, Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF30, pg 80: Benefit Posietint, Mario Badescu Summer Shine Body Lotion, pg 82: Burt's Bees Naturally Ageless Intensive Repairing Serum, pg 97: Tommy Hilfiger cotton dress, no luck finding it online :( pg 100: chiffon dress by Forever21 no luck finding this online either.
Medina: You have sold me.
You had me at "stumps show below the skin". I hate that!!!!!!
This will be a $$$ purchase. I will have to save my pennies.
Readers: I forgot how much fun these posts are. I need to do this every month again.
and
What is the verdict on the Carlson?
I tried the Soft Sheen Carson stuff on my legs... I used the
"Magic Skin Conditioning Shaving Powder" ...I already posted my review on another site, but I feel like I should spread the JOY of having ridiculously smooth legs for $2. That's right TWO THE ECONOMY SUCKS GAS PRICES ARE HIGH I CANT AFFORD A WAX AMERICAN DOLLARS. This stuff rocks! My legs - no lie - feel like I have NEVER had hair on them, ever. It’s amazing. They are so smooth I can’t stop touching them (I know, that sounds bad but it’s true). The only thing that kinda sucks about the whole thing is that it is kind of a messy process. But for the results, I would definitely do it again. If a professional salon offered a service using this product I would totally pay for it, the results are worth it - and someone else could deal with the mess! (=
OH and one more thing... it smells like PERM. LOL... if you can get past the mess and the perm smell you are in for a TREAT! I know I probably just unsold the product, but I am being completely HONEST with you. I just did it two days ago and I do not anticipate having to do it again for a month. My legs are still *glowing* - they look so healthy I can't get over it; they look like someone else's legs. I keep looking down at them and feeling them in disbelief. If it sounds like I am enamored with my legs right now...it's because I am. On that note, I'll be on my way... ehem...
How long does the "perm-like" smell last on the Carson Soft Sheen? I mean, if I use it in the evening, will my skin still have that smell the next morning?
The powder wont make your body smell at all really, just the room you use it in will be affected but if you open a window or turn on a fan it should be gone within a few hours
