“The look is dramatic but with a softness to it. the inspiration for the collection was Botticelli and the contrast of black and white, so the look is a contrast of a strong eye and a soft lip.” – Diane Kendal for MAC

Um, not to put on my Captain Obvious costume or anything...but, aren't those made-up faces kind of the opposite of the paintings? Shouldn't they have a nude eye and a soft pink lip?
It's spelled Herrera.
last model is rocking huuuugeee bags under her eyes.
yeah, i agree. the makeup for this show is the complete exact opposite of those paintings. people need to think outside the smoky eye palette for fierceness or sultriness.
Hi Annie! I really enjoy the non-literal tranlation of the makeup and hair. The juxtaposition of the paintings made me focus on the softer side of traditionally strong smokey eye. If I wanted an obvious comparison I'd do it myself. This - is far more interesting.

I do love me some smoky eyes though. And adored Herrera's Spring offerings.
Thanks Mrs D! I have been slacking off with the editing before publishing again.
Anon: They are but I picked the strong faces.
