Day 30: Corals to Oranges

I have an offbeat collection of coral lipsticks and lip glosses. This is not a color that most cool toned gals gravitate toward. However, nothing like a citrus burst of color gets you in the mood for the sun and surf of Ohio.

My coral lipsticks are all from MAC cosmetics. They are the long discontinued Dainty Cake, Cockatease, Monarch and Electro. Electro is the most Tang-like shade. It is the most juicy, vibrant orange color. Dainty Cake is a frosty coral with a gold backdrop. Monarch is a pink citrus while Cockatease is an apricot with silver shimmer. MAC's High 90's Slimshine lipstick formula is the truest coral shade. The formula is creamy with high sheen and pigment power.

My lip glosses range from MAC to Christian Dior. Pigment power ranges from the whispery light melon to the intense tangerine. DiorKiss Spicy Guava, MAC's Ciao Manhattan and Chanel's Coral Reef are opal-like peaches. The DiorKiss has the added bonus of smelling like fruity chewing gum. Estee Lauder's Coralee is a safety orange shade. It is bright and shimmery.

MAC's Sizzlepeach and Tartlette are shimmery salmon shades. Sizzlepeach has chucks of orange glitter. MAC's 3D glass lipgloss in Apex is a Persimmon shade with ultra fine green shimmer. It is unique and wildly flattering. MAC's lipgelee Lil'Sizzler is a metallic pumpkin.

What are your favorite corals, tangerines and orange lippies? Let us know in the comments.

My two favorite corals that actually look fabulous on me - the new Diane's Coral (from the L'Oreal Diane Keaton makeup line that doesn't exist! :P) and the Princess Grace by Estee Lauder which I would love another tube of!

This color is terrible on me, but I love to look at it anyway.

I agree with Anonymous about Poppy King's Coral (Saint/Sinner). I bought this for myself and couldn't pull it off so I gave it to a friend who looks gorgeous in it.

The only coral I can wear is MAC Possum Nose Pink, which is a hybrid coral/pink and very sheer. It's a great bridge coral for people with sallow skins.

2nd LQ Coral Saint & Sinner. Just perfect & perfectly wearable. Poppy's a l/s genius. Also add MAC Morange. For l/g NARS Babe does the job.

Does anyone know if Chantecaille makes a great coral/orange?

Corals/peaches are tough for me to wear but I do love MAC's Pro Longwear in Clingpeach and Clinique's AdoreU.

Has anyone tried Vincent Longo's Coral Cabana lip gloss?

Coral is my all time favorite lipstick shade, blush & fashion too. For a red/coral I like EL Princess Grace, for a more orangey coral, EL Pure Color Crystal Coral, and for a sheer l/g Smashbox Couture.

I'm not into glosses, but MAC Lychee Luxe is such a beautiful color.

It makes me so happy to see so many coral lovers. All I wear on my lips is peachy-pink-coral-rose shades that are usually impossible to describe. I love the natural, petal-like quality it gives lips and have never liked the nude, beige, red, or even pure pink look. My favorite is MAC's slimshine in Funshine because it's sheerer than High 90s, and I also like Stila's lip colors with SPF 22 in Chelsea and Charlotte. Plus, I think that Shu Uemura's new pink collection has quite a few lippies that veer toward the coral side.

I have just recently become interested in coral lippies - it's not a colour I even thought of as something I could wear, but to my surprise it looks great against my fair skin.
I bought two coral lipstick shades, Pink Brandy, which is a very wearable yellow pink kind of shade, and Bewitching Coral, which is an insanely bright coral verging on hot pink, at 50% off from the Max Factor Color Collection range and I love both colours. Pigmentation isn't the best, but they are nicely creamy and buildable. Am considering MAC Vegas Volt next, so sad that I missed the train with the Princess Grace Coral.
