Close to you...
Gap is launching a new fragrance to their scent library on April 23 2009.
It is called Close.
The top notes are a transparent water accord, almond blossom and a salty citrus accord. It settles into a floral explosion of spring Freesia, Jasmine petals, Daphne, and dewey Stephanotis.
I will be quite frank...water notes and I do not mix well.
Water notes morph into something cucumber-like on my skin.
It is not pretty.
But the Gap had me at the Daphne note. Daphne is heavenly. It is lily-like with some smoke and earth thrown in. This alone will get me in the store to check this out.
The dry down of Close is fairly standard with Sandalwood, Musk, Vanilla Tonka and amber.
This fragrance will be available in 100 ml. ($35.00)
50 ml ($25.00)10 ml. ($8.50) at your local Gap store.
If anyone has sniffed this let us know in the comments.

Didn't the Gap release a scent with the same name five or six years ago?

I think it's weird that Gap has released a new fragrance with the same name and almost the same bottle as one released in 2000. They had a fragrance named Close with notes of grapfruit, cassis flower, peony, magnolia, jasmine and icy flower. I bought it because I loved it--still have it, though I use it rarely now. I haven't smelled the new one, but I have enjoyed gap scents from the past that I sniffed in the store.
Gap has re-released this. Although, it seems like the juice is a little different. It smells crisper and fresher.
Gap used a perfumer maker called Mattura (sp?). Back in the 90's they bought the rights to his scents--Heaven, Earth, Grass, and I think Om. They were a lovely EDT and now they have also brought back Grass. It too, seems that they have re-formulated it. I think both are immensely likable and wearable.
I love Om and Grass.
I had no idea that they brought back Grass and reformulated it.
You can tell that I have not been in a Gap for quite a while.
I used to work there...so when I look at the denim wall...I get flashbacks of folding.
I haven't liked any Gap scents in the past, but I would sniff at this with my long, sensitive snout.
Hello, I know this is a bit off topic so sorry :-] I was searching through the online "counters" of BG and Nordies skincare and was dazzled by too many choices. I have already spent an hefty price tag for cleanser and moisturizer before from Kiehls and Clinique to Shiseido and Chanel, but am not too happy with any of my experiences. I have sensitive skin that is quite breakout prone and usually cleansers seem either too pore clogging aka Shiseido's pure foam cleanser or too dry Clinique's mild gel cleanser:( So could you please reccomend any skincare product suitable for my skin from ample beauty and skincare knowledge? Thanks.
Yeah, I thought the same thing as Holly. I have a bottle of Close in the long skinny tall bottle and it's very citrus-y fresh and I love it. I was so sad when they discontinued it. I got some of the new Gap roll-ons in the single scents (peony, orange blossom) and found that they don't last at all. I'm definitely heading out to Gap to check out these. I was a fan of Om too. I had totally forgotten about it.
