Rock the Gloss Challenge for Friday August 11th 2006:
I am wearing Monarch lipstick by MAC with DuWop's venom gloss in Coral Tree. I am insane over the texture of the DuWop gloss.
Koneko at http://beautydiary.blogspot.com/ loaned me a great book to read called Lipstick by Jessica Pallingston. It is everything you have ever wanted to know about the product.
A snippet concerning the naming of MAC lipsticks:
MAC's Frank Toskan explains that their colors are created by a group of makeup artists, and that once again, the naming process is a matter of colors being associated with words that come to mind. A purple will be looked at , and someone might mention that it looks like cellophane. It looks like plastic. Then the word comes...."Plastique". Or a color is looked at and someone will say, "Look at that color, that looks like ecstacy"-and theres your name. Naming colors is an evocative process. Look at the color....what do you see?

Hi Annie! Today I'm wearing...
Liner: Wet & Wild 666
Lipstick: L'Oreal Colour Riche in Color of Hope
Lipgloss: Almay Whipped Gloss in Pinched Pink
I really do hope that L'Oreal will bring back Color of Hope, which was a limited edition for Breast Cancer Awareness month last year. In addition to supporting a good cause, it is a perfectly wearable rose shade.
Today, MAC lipstick in Sundressing and gloss in Tres Cheri.
Clinique colour surge impossibly glossy in Miss Hibiscus.
The Clinique glosses are so just as good as the Estee Lauder ones, they give good pigment and are, as the name portends, very glossy.
My lips are outfitted today in Guerlain KissKiss lipstick in Beige Strass and topped off with the KissKiss gloss in Beige Caprice. It sounds dreadfully monochromatic, but both of these beiges have lovely peach/apricot/golden tones that soften up my rather severe casual Friday look (black polo with company logo and black denim skirt). If I had been a smart girl, I would have lined with Wet & Wild 666 like Stanzi did, but I failed to do so.
Bon Voyage to my dear friends and fervent wishes for a fabulous weekend.
I know i'm late but...
I was wearing Revlon Star Style( Kate Bosworth) l/g in Hushed Blush. Then I went ot CVS and pickup Revlon Color Stay in RUby Rapture and put it on. I think I need a l/i though with the RR.
Have a great weekend!
Stanzi, the entire Color Of Hope group of shadows and lipstick and gloss were so pretty. I also saw a reddish ColourJuice this Spring for another charity.
Thank you to Miss Manners for the good wishes!
I wore no lip products at all today, I did not leave the house, yet!
I didn't notice the first time I dropped by today, but I love the picture of the women applying their lipstick on an AIRPLANE! ;-) Looks like we won't be doing that again anytime soon. If they think terrorists are hard to deal with, they haven't yet met the women who are married to their glosses and want to buy duty-free perfume!
Hi there!
Today I'm wearing City lips plumping gloss in color SanFranKissco it's a rosy cherry color. Very pretty & shiny.
Love the name!
I hope you are enjoying the book! =) You'll have to tell me how you like it once you are finished!
I love the parrot pictures! ;-)
Such a sad story... I didn't wear any lipstick (Friday) and looked terribly anemic and I bumped into a very very cute guy (of course the day I look terrible!) Not sure if he was single though...!
Annie...don't leave me hangin! You are insane over the texture of DuWop's gloss...tell me more about it!

Everyone:
I am sorry that I am not keeping up with the comments. I hope to catch up by the end of this week.
Lotionbar: It is like silk.
It is not sticky or gooey but feels moisturizing and very protective. Leaves a fantastic shine. It is not like anything I have ever tried before. Thumbs up from me!!!
