40 Days And 40 Nights Of Beauty Cult Classics
Day 26, Benetint by Ceil aka Tussah
Benefit’s bene tint is a cheek and lip tint that gives you a perfectly natural rose colored glow. Sheer, but tinted with a shade somewhere between rose and blood red, it is easily applied with the nailpolish-like brush that comes with it. For me it never applies as splotches or streaks like some lip and cheek stains. Just a few dots on the cheeks will blend perfectly with your natural blush color. Used alone on the cheeks and lips it can give you an innocent but sexy look.
I tend to use bene tint along with my other blushes. I am fair skinned and have red in all of the wrong places. I also have very pale lips naturally. So….often instead of just using the bene tint alone….I will use it as my “first-layer” and then apply my other blush on top. I also use it as my lip stain and then apply my gloss or lipstick on top. Then as the day wears on I still have a nice but natural color showing if any of my makeup wears off.
For me this product definitely has justification for cult status….How do you use it and feel about it?
Benetint is priced at $28 and is available at Sephora.

i absolutely love this! My best friend and I swore by Benetint.
I love the color and natural-feeling texture, but I hate that applicator. Every time I use, I hold my breath, afraid to drop it on my clothes or counter. I wish it was in roll-on tube.
I love Benetint -- it's one of my every day products. I don't wear it on my lips very often, though, but a make-up artist suggested layering the blue California Kissin' gloss over it, which is really pretty. I've also worn the Benetint balm over it, but I don't putting my fingers into a pot and don't always carry a lip brush with me. So I mainly wear mine on my cheeks.
I think it would be perfect if Benefit made a multiple-use Benetint product like their Rush Hour or a NARS Multiple, or even a Benetint balm stick instead of the pot; I would wear it every single day, no joke. And if it had SPF, it would be a holy grail for me.
Love the color and staying power. One complaint though, it really dries out my lips! I have the dual ended benetint and clear gloss. The gloss is ok, but it still doesn't keep my lips from becoming dry after applying the benetint. Also, I agree with the above commenter, the applicator is a pain. It's an example of a great product whose packaging could use some serious work.
I like the fact that it was originally created to darken the nipples of adult actresses!
i don't like benetint at all. the color doesn't work with my complexion (nc50), it is too watery, and the applicator is impractical. i agree with most of your cult status items, but not this one ;)
I was a complete benetint spokesperson for a couple of years. I used nothing else. However, I don't find it to be extremely portable or a good traveler, and I travel a lot. It spilled once and ruined everything in the bag and the bag itself. I find tarte has many of the same benefits with added emollience (although I wonder how tarte would work on the lips?)
Make sure not to leave it in your car in the winter or it will explode!
you should try using The Body Shop's version of a lip tint/cheek stain. I love their formula, and it doesn't dry out your skin... it's everything I wanted Benetint to be.
Yes, as usual, too orange for me as well. It is getting easier to find a true blue-based pink lip stain - Tarte's are good, Sephora brand has a gel, and Nars makes 3 that are fantastic - you can custom mix your desired color. It's a mess though!
I think it's a good product for a lot of people but I am just not coordinated enough. You have to blend like a mofo and I mean as soon as the stuff hits your cheeks or it dries in streaks for that "Krusty the Klown Goes Beserkers" effect that we all find so sexy.
for a clear flushed look I have had to go for less tricky applicators.
i hate it-the color isn't quite right, application is a nightmare.
My mom has the Benetint Pocket pal and she seems to like it okay enough, she still doesn't like to use anything other than Chantecaille and La Mer though. I read about this product and see it everywhere all the time, but I find the bottle and applicator to look so intimidating that I still haven't tried it.
It has never worked for me and is very drying
Benetint does nothing for me. I'm pale but naturally rosy, and it doesn't even show up on my lips.
