Lipstick is worth a Hundred Words
By Jessica M
“You don’t have to worry: I’ve taken care of myself for a long time.”
When I was a teenager and I watched “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” for the first (and second and third) time, I couldn’t wait to live in an apartment someday. I pictured myself coming and going in a stylish whirl, and just like Holly Golightly, I’d keep my lipstick and perfume in my hallway mailbox for quick touch-ups. Well, I still live in an apartment, and I use the mailbox for mail, but I often recall this movie moment when I come home from work and take out my bills and catalogues. I’m not quite so chic, but I’m always wearing lipstick!

I fell in love with George Peppard in this movie. He was just so young and blonde and one of the first men I ever saw in bed w/o a shirt on. Holly was just so chic and gorgeous, she remains an Icon. I wonder what lipstick she wore?
My favorite movie of all time, I used to watch this whenever I felt blue. I have been in search of that exact shade of frosty coral-peach my entire adult life. MAC cabana pink comes close, but it is LE and I lost my only one. Le sigh.
How could you talk about Breakfast at Tiffanys and lipstick and NOT mention...the...line? that wondrous line from the Taxi that was practically my grandmother's mantra and the justification for my current unbelievable lipstick collection?
