Day 33: The Cleveland Gang Discovers Givenchy!
by MUA's Cavewoman

With Spring finally in the air in Northeast Ohio, Ms. Blogdorf and I headed up to Cleveland on a recent lovely sunny Saturday to hang out with our friends, have lunch, seek out the newest scents to try at the fragrance counters, and check out the newly-installed Givenchy Cosmetics display at our little Sephora store. With the 40 In 40 Lip Service project well on its way, we had lippies on our minds and we wanted lippies on our lips! Ceil was looking at the plums and deep reds, Leah loved the peaches and light shimmery pales, and Annie and I quickly fell in love with the huge selection of our favorites, the pinks. There were beautiful choices for all of us, and we caved. There's nothing like a new lipstick to usher in the new season, and we were all ready to celebrate Spring with the new Givenchy lippies!

The texture of the Rouge Interdit is a cream-gel type formula, with saturated color and an ultra-comfortable feeling on the lips. Some of the shades have a bit of shimmer, but no big glitter particles here. Even the more pale shades have good coverage. The shades range from pales and nudes in warms and cools, to outrageous hot pinks, to stunning va-va-voom reds. The formula feels packed with moisture and has a pretty, satin finish. We all agreed that we want more of them and will be back soon to play and test and ooh and ahh at the new Givenchy area.

Rouge Interdit Shine is a lipstick-style gloss in a smoky, see-through lucite case. The shades available were beautiful, about a dozen or so, all with lustrous shimmer. Of course I couldn't resist Candy Shine, a medium pink with a hint of coral. This gloss is similar in style to the new Clarins Joli Rouge Brillant, and I'm so glad to see more lipstick-style glosses at the counters.

Have you bought a new lippie for Spring? Have you tried the new Givenchy Rouge Interdit yet? We can't wait to hear!

Haven't tried the Givenchy; there's not a Givenchy counter w/in 100 mile radius.

I did buy a Shu Uemura Mika recently. Think the color is Petal Brown Beige. It's...okay. Totally YLBB on me. It goes on like a gloss, slick and slightly sheer, but dries down matte. Noticed that it really accentuates lip lines when it dries. Doesn't have enough color for me, but is perfect daytime color.

Come to think of is, this is the second Lipstick Meh in the last two lipstick purchases. Since I don't want three strikes, I am going to have to stop buying blind. This means sticking in Lancome or Shiseido, which I can get locally.

Rose Caprice is on my list of things to buy. Givenchy isn't sold in any stores here in Omaha so I'll have to order it online. Did you try it yet? How does the color look on?

Love those shades. I just received Mac's St Germain today. I ordered online at Nordstrom's. I wanted the Estee Lauder gift with purchase. I totally ordered St Germain because of Anne Rice's, Interview With a Vampire.

I have not bought a new lippie for spring. well, i bought lavendar whip and st germaine...i guess those are both spring, but I didn't designate either of them as my "spring shade". neither of them are everyday wearable enough. i am eyeing some of those YSL though...

Will definitely try it now! I paid a very long visit to Sephora yesterday but didn't make it very far past the Chanel area! LOL

Kisses from Paris!

I am loving the Rose Caprice that I bought. I like the creamy formula of these.

My whole *MAIN* makeup bag got stolen a coupla months ago. The cost for replacing a quarter of it was crippling, not to mention I got alot of it discount from bloomies by being nice to the shopgirls and introducing so many customers... *Sob*. And discontinued colours that I'd horded...

Plus, what kind of woman steals a girls entire bag? It's not unknown for mascara to go missing, but SERIOUSLY? That's JUST MEAN.

It is good to know that Rouge Interdit lipsticks leave an ultra-comfortable feeling on the lips. I am a complete lippie freak and love to buy them regularly and I always go for cream-gel type formula types. :-)

I recently purchased Givenchy Rouge Interdit in Maharani Rose -- (LE from their spring line) -- such a beautiful rose-pink, I highly recommend it!
