Day 34: Lippie Storage

I have a fair sized collection of lipsticks and lip glosses. I collect lippies like an art dealer. I am constantly thinking about what would "fit" into the collection. I am currently going through a heavy pink period. I am always on the look out for a new masterpiece(MAC's Lavender Whip) and emerging new artists(Poppy King's Big Bang gloss in Space).

This collection has grown quite large. It has outgrown the cosmetic caddy and the odd containers. I need a more organized system. If you have any clever ideas let me know in the comments.

How do you store your lipsticks and lipglosses?

Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions for storage. I just wanted to say that I'm going to show my husband this picture so he won't think I'm so bad. I'm jealous though - I have half of that. :(

This is only a smart part of it. It is not as massive as most Makeupalley members...but it is pretty large. I should post a full picture.

I use a few beautiful satin lip caddies. However, I can no longer find the website they are sold from.

:-(

I tend to purge once every couple years anyway.

I use plastic stackable containers from Target-- not elegant, but functional!

You are my hero! I can't imagine how big the entire collection is. Mine is half that and I love each lippie dearly.

I have this QVC organizer in white, but the black is sharp, too. For $75, it is a lot of storage for a footprint the size of a toaster. It holds 150 tubes and I have another lipstick holder on display on top of it.

Someone on MUA was talking about using shot gun shell holders for storing their lippies. Which is, um, interesting.

The ongoing question, how to store? I have no answer.

Mine are in the linen closet, the bathroom cabinet, the stacked drawers in the bathroom, on the vanity of the sink, in boxes ...

I am thinking of a rolling cart with drawers maybe. For all types of makeup not just lippies.

Good Lord, who needs so much lippies? Fascinating!

Sad to say, my collection has completely outgrown boxes (not to mention I hate digging through them looking for one specific color) so I use a hanging pantry/closet organizer with individual pockets (which I separate into pinks, nudes, reds, most used etc).

Rereading this, I see now that I may or may not have put too much thought into lip storage! Whoops.

I love to look at people's stashes!
I tried to beg a shopkeeper to give me a candy display that would have been perfect for my collection!

What a great collection!

I have no great way to store mine. Currently I have all my lippies in a soft cosmetic case but it's starting to overflow. Sigh. I need a bigger bathroom/vanity. Not to mention a few that float around in my bags and purses for everyday use!!

I store my massive lippie collection in containers in my fridge. This way, they won't go rancid as quickly compared to keeping them at room temperature. Yes, I have that many. And I love them all ;)
