One of my favorite moments during my last trip to Paris was a visit to Laduree.
This French pastry shop is famous for their macaroons.
But they should be famous for my choice of dessert. I had the Violet Religieuse. This is a Choux pastry filled with violet flavoured confectioner’s custard.
I chose it because I adore violet perfumes and was feeling adventurous.
It was pure heaven.
I never could have guessed how delicious violet could be.

In honor of my dessert, please list your favorite violet fragrances in the comments.

What a lovely photo of your violet dessert! I have to nominate Violetta Di Bosco by I Profumi Di Firenze as my favorite violet scent.

P: It was heaven on a plate.
I wish I could make this...seriously.
LOL

Violetta smells so amazing on you. It is one of your HG's.

what amazing images - I'm totally envious! My favorites are Fresh's Violette collection, really the body cream more than the Eau de Parfum.

wow, what a magical place!

I love the violet in Bvlgari Pour Femme and L'Eau d'Hiver, also Grey Flannel is an old favorite and I like African Violet oil by Attar bazaar

I love violet flavored candy and food - there is a syrup available by Monin. Creme de Violet/Creme de Yvette was a violet flavored liquor that was one of the ingredients in a Blue Moon, but is no longer available in the US (although I hear you can get it in Paris and Japan). In the meantime you can get Violet flavored truffles from Vosges Haute Chocolate, though.

I love Annick Goutal La Violette. Delish, as are those pictures. So pretty .
Did you bring any of those goodies shown back with you ?

I love violet desserts too -- there's a bakery that makes a rosewater-cream-filled cupcake with a candied violet on top in San Francisco, and one a few blocks from my office (dangerous!!) that makes French macaron, including violet-flavored ones.

I'll have to check out Fresh's Violette!

Hooray for Laduree! Boy, don't I wish they sold their soaps and lipbalms in the states! My favorite violets are Penhaligon's Violetta and Serge Lutens Bois de Violette. Perfect for spring!

That looks wonderful! I'm new to perfumes but I will have to go with Fresh Violet Moss. The only other I have tried was Fresh Violette and I didn't care for it but the body cream was nice (the two do not smell the same).

I love violet-rose blends... my favorite is La Rose de Rosine. I visited Laduree, but I was reprimanded when I attempted to take a photograph of my dessert plate! Oh dear!

I'm taking a trip to Paris with my mother in May and I'm now compiling a list of must-not-miss destinations. This is on the top of it! Thanks. What a fun blog - so happy I happened upon it!

I *adore* Laduree and there is one not too far from the in-laws' apt.

Favorite violet scent: the original Caron Violette Precieuse.

I had a wonderful tea at Laduree a couple years ago--it's a magical place!

I haven't tried the others mentioned, but I do like Fresh Violette, but the perfume and body cream. Also have you tried Flavigny violet pastilles? I've loved those since childhood.

I had a delicious violet-infused cocktail in Paris at l'Hotel--half violet liqueur, half champagne, a sliver of lime. So delicious I went to Le Grande Epicerie at Bon Marche and bought a bottle of the violette liqueur to enjoy the cocktail again at home. Extra tasty when enjoyed with a dark chocolate violette truffle from Neuhaus chocolates...
