Hi Everyone: I have been sick since last friday. I have no idea what virus I caught but it has been hell. I have never felt so weak and tired. I have spent most of the time in bed watching television. I have seen the movie Heartburn twice. I watched reruns of SNL and Daily Show. I watched a lot of Food Network. Tyler Florence is an amazing cook and so lovely to look at. I felt a little depressed and emotional watching him make pesto lasagna. Got really teary eyed. So...I am begging for positive healing vibes so I can get well and back to work. I can not take much more television and Tyler's floppy hair.

Tonight I am going to see Branford Marsalis perform. I am tired and would love to just curl up in bed and read a good book while watching the food network. However I am literally forcing myself to get ready. Tonight I will try to get glam with some MAC greensmoke with the vanilla pigment. I think I will wear gorgeous gold in the crease. No idea on the outfit or jewelry. Have a great Wednesday night!

This is a huge rave for MAC pigments. The entire line is made up of the most stunning vibrant hues with wonderful staying power. I puchased Vanilla and the Norstorm clerk gave me the tester of Pink Opal. The vanilla has just a smidge of gold shimmer while the pink opal resembles the colors in an opal. They are lovely on the lids and in the pots.
My last week haul also included the lipstick Dainty Cake. It is a shimmery coral peach. It is a new color shade for me. I also gobbled up more corals such as monarch, cockatease, sizzlepeach(a shimmery lipglass) and Tartlette(no shimmer). I think I have corals on the brain. I keep drooling over chunky coral beads and the coral branches. There is a great coral branch necklace on Neiman Marcus.com. It retails for around $600.00.
Another great makeup purchase I made a few weeks ago was the Lancome skunk brush. I can not believe I have lived this long without it. MAC also makes a skunk brush but it appears to be sold out everywhere. I am so grateful Chattykathy introduced us(me and cavewoman) to this brush. It deposits just enough color on the cheek. The brush also looks adorable. I highly recommend this to everyone who wears blush. You will never be the same.

I am so tired and exhausted from a rough day at work. I went to a weight watchers meeting after being very good all week. I lost NOTHING. It could be worse and I could have gained weight. It is just frustrating that this is going to be a slow process with no visible results for months. I had hoped that by fall that I would be an owner of low rise high end jeans. I have been stalking all these different brands. I have read all the reviews on various fashion boards. I have researched these jeans like people research their new cars.
I do not ask for much. I am just a girl who covets the perfect denim trouser jean and the discontinued highly sought after MAC eyeshadow called Parrot. Thats all I want....this week.
Have a great Monday night!

I have not posted any ramblings on music so here is my first one. This is my favorite band The White Stripes. De Stijl is the album that I fell in love with. My dear friend Mary and I did a road trip to Boston a few years back. We both share a similiar taste in fine music so we each had CDS that we brought to listen to. This is the CD she popped in when we started going through the mountains. I was floored by Mr White's talent. I just could not get enough of it and was a rabid fan by the time we arrived in Salem. I loved each and every song off of De Stijl. It was a mixture of the blues with amazing guitar playing that just blew me away. I was able to see them live in Cleveland at the Odeon on March 29th 2002. They opened with Dead leaves and a dirty ground off the White Blood Cells album. I was then blessed to witness Rated X (with Meg as lead vocals), Hello Operator, I just dont know what to do with myself (It would later appear on Elephant), Jack the Ripper, and Boll Weavil. Mr White was so energetic and Meg was lovely. The next time I saw them live I went to the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Mary and I planned the perfect NYC that involved seeing Mr B play with his band, La Boheme on Broadway and seeing the White Stripes with the opening act Loretta Lynn. It was a magical evening. Jack came out and asked the crowd to treat Loretta with respect and reminded all of us that she is a lady. He stated that he expected the crowd to behave. He then went and escorted Loretta Lynn on the stage. It was so respectful and gentlemen like. The crowd went nuts and she went into her first song. The audience loved her and were wild with their appreciation. She was touched and seemed blown away by the response. I can imagine how nervous she was to perform to a non-country audience. I was an instant fan by the first song. She performed Rated X with Jack and it was amazing. Jack and Meg were fantastic as always. The crowd was great but not as wild as a Cleveland audience. The place was filled with celebrities ranging from Winona Ryder(she pounded her fists on the ledge to the music), Jim Jarmusch(who we spotted the night before at B's gig), and Tommy Lee(who knew?). I will do more posts on other White Stripes albums and the other bands I adore including Radiohead, The Raveonettes, Pixies and the Halloween Nirvana show.

Shopping Report with Cavewoman: First stop was T J Maxx in Beachwood. This is the infamous Maxx with the Chanel sighting. Today we spotted the most fabulous Christian Lacroix heels that are worthy of Carrie Bradshaw. Cavewoman tried them on and looked amazing. She decided to pass. I tried to make her "cave" but she is strong. She scored some wonderful jewelry while I took home two pairs of sunglasses.
We then proceeded to the Beachwood Mall. We did more damage at the Saks and Nordstorm MAC counters. I purchased Monarch lipstick (lovely peach) ,Tartlette lipglass, vanilla pigment (a vanilla gold), Meadowland (greenish teal) and Pollen eyeshadow. The sales clerk gave me the tester for Pink Opal pigment since they were out of stock. At the Saks MAC counter I scored the last Dainty Cake lipstick along a backup Moth Brown. The sales clerk was wearing my holy grail eyeshadow Parrot so we bonded. She showed us the upcoming MAC lipsticks that are due out in a few weeks. She then asked her manager if she could sell us the ones they had in stock. The manager did not care so we came home with unreleased MAC lipsticks. The ones I have are Pretty Loud (a stunning blue based pink), Cockatease (a great coral similiar to Dainty Cake) and Frosti (a shimmery plum). There were many others but these three were my early favorites. They had some rich browns and taupe lipsticks. These are not my speed but they were wonderful. Cavewoman and I were disappointed to not see the new Nars collection. The line is not out in Saks or Sephora. The Saks clerk said it will be a few weeks. The Sephora gal had no idea what I was talking about.
I explored the Tony+Tina line. Fell hard for a glitter that was a vanilla/yellow/amber. It was beyond lovely. It was sold out and I wrote the name on my list. Sadly my list was left behind in Sephora. Ugh!
Tony+Tiny had some amazing glitters and glitter based products. If you like glitter this is the line for you. I love glitter so I was in heaven.
We went to the perfume counter at Saks and tested Angel's Violet again. I do not think it is a future purchase for me even though it really is lovely. There are no more YSL Roses Enchantees. I was thinking I was going to pick up a backup bottle. I am loving this scent.
We went into Banana Republic for their sale. The clothes area was a madhouse so I just stayed at the jewelry case. I found some lovely pins and a great raspberry stone earring. I also purchased a scarf.
Cavewoman and I ended the day with mexican at Cancun in ytown. It was a great shopping day as always........
