L'Oreal's Skin Genesis Multi-Layer Cell Strengthening Daily Treatment Eye Serum

I caved on this product due to the raves from my dear friend Cavewoman. I witnessed the amazing results on her eye area and immediately wanted to jump on that bandwagon.
This is an amazing product that hails from your local drugstore.

It minimizes puffiness and helps with dark circles. My dark circles have not been cured by any stretch of the imagination, but they appear to be less intense.
The skin area around my eyes had been struggling with dryness issues. I have been using very high end eye products and still would notice dry and evident lines after a few hours.
This product has DRAMATICALLY reduced any dryness.
This eye serum boasts the ingredients Pro-Xylane and Hyaluronic Spheres. Pro-Xylane is a naturally-derived molecule so small it can penetrate skin's surface layers. The spheres are supposed to strengthen the skin.

I am smitten and will be a devoted fan.

This is available at your local drugstore and retails for $19.99.

Ingredients: Water - Aqua , Dimethicone , Propylene Glycol , Isohexadecane , Glycerin , Alcohol Denat , Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer , Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate - Ammonium Polyacryldimethyltauramide , Hydroxyethylpipera Zine Ethane Sulfonic Acid , Polysorbate 80 , Nylon-12 , Hydroxypropyl Tetrahydropyrantriol , Caprylyl Glycol , Carbomer , Sodium Hydroxide , Tocopherol , Ceteth-10 , Laureth-4 , Silica Dimethyl Silylate , Algae Extract - Algae , Sodium Hyaluronate , Disodium EDTA , Phenoxyethanol

Shiseido's Shimmering Lipstick Rouge Irise SL14

This is an ultra sheer pink with iridescent sparkles. The sparkle action is subtle and not overpowering. The glitter is not chunky but it feels slightly grainy on the lips. It contains hydro-wrap Vitalizing DE, which is a moisturizer with great lasting power. This lippie does not dry out my lips like other shimmer based products.

It retails for $22.50 and is available at Sephora.

Island Hopping with Michael Kors

Michael Kors has released some tropical scents for the upcoming summer months.

Island Capri has opening notes of orange bigarade,Italian basil and bergamot. It is herb-ish with a dash of orange zest.

There are appearances of rose petals(quite strong and pretty), violets(did not detect), fig and jasmine. The drydown is a mixture of olive tree accord, white moss and musk. The drydown is light and linen fresh. Not woodsy at all.
I love how the perfumer chose specific notes to capture the regions. This is exactly what I imagine the coast of Italy to smell like. A mixture of figs, oranges and sand.

Fiji is strangely aquatic. The notes are Tiare flower, tropical petals and Polynesian waters. I am not sure what note makes a fragrance smell like water. It could be water lily or maybe some kind of linden.

Hawaii begins with notes of clementine and juicy orange fuse with neroli. The mid notes are hydroponic pineapple, orange flower, jasmine sambac and ginger lilies.
The neroli note is the standout. It is lush and full-bodied.
The drydown is amber and sandalwood.

Michael Kors Island FIJI, Island Hawaii and Island Capri will be available at Nordstorm this month. They retail for $60.00

A New Impossible Coat Lemming

Long time readers and friends know that I have a great weakness for coats.
I literally lost my mind when I spotted the seafoam green ladylike coat on Gossip Girl. It is from the Valentino Resort collection from 2008.
Is it wrong to pray to the Forever21 gods for a rip off? Is is possible to locate a seafoam green coat with a peter pan collar? I am smitten and can not be consoled.
This could be my greatest love affair with a coat.

The Big O
By Melanie Parker

As recently reported here, Nars recently released a Double Orgasm set featuring a Nars Orgasm lip gloss and nail polish set. The Orgasm blush has become a cult classic in the beauty industry, and the company is riding its wave right on to your nails.

The Nars Orgasm nail polish glides over the nail in a peach wash with a captivating gold shimmer. Much like the Orgasm blush, this polish can go into orange territory quickly depending on your skin tone. On me, it looks more peach than orange. On some others, it may even go salmon and look a little pink. The gold shimmer is subtle and elegant.

There is an NYC Glossies #229 polish, which is similar to Nars Orgasm at a fraction of the price at a drug store near you. But other than NYC, I don't think another manufacturer has this color. It is sure to be a hit for tips and toes this summer. I already feel like I have a bit of a tan wearing it today!

I've tried to capture the color in various natural lighting conditions (no flash).

The Nars Double Orgasm set is available for $30 at sephora.com.

The Best Fragrance for Spring:
Lancome's Peut Etre

The scene takes place in a french garden. She was wondering aimlessly amongst the roses, lilac, iris and jasmine. She was thinking about him. Dear lord...has Lancome been reading my diary?
Maybe he was the one after all...
he loved her dearly but she expected something from him, a sign that would cast away all her doubts.
A breeze arose and the wind stroked her dress and skin. Her hair waved gently to the rhythm of the wind..A few petals floated and became entangled in her hair...She closed here eyes, taking in the scents borne by the wind.
She heard the sound of footsteps and opened her eyes.
He was talking towards her.
His gaze was deep. (**butterflies***)
He gave her the feeling that there was special excitement in the air.
She was now oblivious to the wind, her heart was beating so faster. My heart is beating faster too. Lancome really has me now!
A shiver ran through her body: he seemed to be hiding an object in the palm of his hand.
They just ruined the story for me.
At that moment, she knew something was going to happen....Peut-etre. (from the perfume box)

Lancome is slowly releasing many of their fragrance gems from the vault.
Peut Etre was originally launched in 1937. Armand Petitijean, Lancome's founder, was inspired by the last of the lilacs and the first of the roses, mingled with the fragrance of a lime tree. The newly launched fragrance has notes of Seringa flower,Bulgarian Rose Essence, Iris with a musk and amber dry down. It is light as a whisper but with great sillage. The musk is not overpowering in this fragrance. It is quiet and peaceful.
I purchased it after just one whiff.
I loved how close it stayed to the skin and how fresh the composition was.
This is the perfect scent for spring.

It retails for $125 and is available at your local Saks store and the Lancome website. Saks is having their Friends and Family event on Thursday...so if you have SA then you might ask for a hook up. I have no other details as of right now. If you know more...please post in the comments.

Blogdorf Earth
Huiles & Baumes Alpine SOS Balm Review

The skincare line is 100% natural and organic with no parabens, preservatives, PEG(Polyethylene Glycol), colorants, synthetic perfumes and petroleum products.

What the heck is in it?
Arnica(flowers often used as an external application in sprains and bruises), helichrysum(everlasting flowers), Carapa(tree), Jojoba essential oil, shea butter and Callophyllis are the listed ingredients. It smells herbal and slightly anise-like. It quickly melts into the skin and leaves a subtle sheen. The balm soothes irritated skin and reduces bruises. I am currently without a bruise so I can not attest to this. I have been using it on my feet to achieve baby soft heels. It has worked wonders.
It retails for $42 and is available at Space NK.

Blogdorf Earth

My father has wanted me to do a green themed week since I started the blog. He has been "green" since I was a tiny tot. Dad recycled before there were organized programs. My father was a compost pile expert by the time I was in high school in the 1980's. He uses only organic products and is quite passionate on all things environmental and Al Gore.
These posts will delight him.

Bond No 9 has a recycling program.
You can bring your empty perfume bottles to a Bond No.9 boutique or Saks Fifth Avenue Store and receive a free refillable pocket spray with any Bond fragrance purchase.

The bottles will be sanitized, refurbished, refilled and decorated to announce its reuse to the consumer. All other bottles will be inspected to determine if they are recyclable or not;then sorted and sent to the appropriate facility for glass, plastic and metal recycling.

They are also accepting and recycling perfume bottles from the competition. They will recycle Guerlain to Hilary Duff.
My father thought that was very cool.

Let me know what other recycle programs are being offered by beauty brands in the comments.

Les Salons du Palais Royal Shiseido in Paris

Just Picked for Spring 2008!
By Melanie Parker

Often times I like to focus on nail polish colors that are new, but in this review I will focus on what's right now. Sally Hansen's Salon formula Spring collaboration with designer Tracy Reese is a triumph. Despite the "Salon" name, this brand is available at drug stores for about $6 and features some exceptional colors. Look for free standing displays that are set apart from the other Sally Hansen polishes. My favorite is this rich, jewel-toned jelly finished polish called Sultry Fuchsia. I liked it so much I actually had a matching manicure and pedicure going for a few days--and that rarely happens with so many colors available. The translucent quality of this jelly finish is subtle in this sheen because of the deep pinkish red hue. It's yummy!

Other standouts in this Sally Hansen Salon Spring collection are Tunisian Sand (which is a shimmery neutral shade that looks subdued and sophisticated) and Arabian Night (which is one of the most unique colors I have ever seen in a Sally Hansen polish). Arabian Night's dusty grape-colored base is sprinkled with antique gold-colored speckles. It doesn't work with all skin tones, but if you love shades of violet, it is a must-have. Since the displays for this line only offer two of each color, these three shades are selling fast! There is also a Limited Edition silver foil-finished polish called Sterling out now.

My other pick for right now is OPI's Yoga-ta Get This Blue! I didn't listen to the name and waited a few months after the India collection came out to cave in on this color. Last Fall when the "blue is the new black" nail polish trend hit hard with Chanel's Blue Satin, I got burned out. All of the blues I tried rendered themselves black in most light and made me feel a little self-conscious. However, this OPI is a true cobalt blue shimmer that is distinguishable in any lighting condition. It's a great color for toes this Spring and Summer.

Hell Yes...to Carrots
A review for C How to Shower by Yes to Carrots

I have been stalking this line at my local Walgreens for several months.
I could not resist the adorable concept, packaging and ingredients.
Who can resist anything made from sweet potatos?

The products are a mixture of carrot juice, pumpkin, sweet potato, melon and dead sea mud. The fragrance is fresh and airy. The formula is thick and moisturizing.
The lather action is full bodied and long lasting.
It is everything a shower gel should be and more.
The price is $7.99 at your local Walgreens.

My list for a potential Sephora Haul:

Page 6: More Lancome Juicy Tubes World Tour lippies. These are the Christopher Kane limited edition glosses.
Page 7: Make Up For Ever Lash Fibers. This lash primer has nylon fibers and rice wax.
Page 12: Nars lipstick in Funny Face
Page 13: Sephora Lip Attitude in Glam Gloss in 12. This looks like a sheer grape color.
Smashbox Bionic Mascara....they had me at bionic.
Page 21: Ojon Tawaka Ancient Tribal Rejuvenating Cream.
It looks like chocolate whipped cream.
Page 25: Per-Fekt Face Gel in Radiant.
Page 35: Philosphy's Red Velvet Cake.

What are you currently lemming from the catalog?
