Let's Hear It For The Boys!

By Melanie Parker

Being an avid nail polish collector, I jumped on the chance to order some Boys in the Bottle nail polishes based on their online promotion. At http://www.boysinthebottle.com/, you can order up to 6 free polishes for the cost of shipping. If you take full advantage of the promotion, you pay $14.39 for 6 polishes, and the shipping is less depending on the quantity. My order arrived 14 days later.

I was most impressed with Mark in the Dark, which is a deep peacock green shimmer. Tony Teal is another must-have color from the collection. I regret not ordering G.I. Joe instead of the champagne glittery Boy Toy. Shy Guy is a great metallic warm red and Luck of the Drew is an interesting mid-tone lilac shimmer. But I was amazed by the vileness of the cutest named polish--Claude Nine. It is like a runny, yellowish foundation in the bottle. All of the other polishes are a normal consistency.

In this picture, you can see the bubbles in the polish. It is the consistency of milk in a glass. I never cared for Lippmann Collection The Way We Were, but Boys in the Bottle Claude Nine trumps it in the battle of the putrid nudes. BEHOLD, the world's ugliest polish:

Other than this one miss, I'd say that you should give the Boys a try!

Blogdorf Roadshow:

This is a pin that has been a mystery to me for years.
Yesterday I discovered a similar one at a local antique store with a price tag of $250.
I was delighted not by the price but by the fact that I might finally learn more about my piece. I love doing detective work.
It is the Nancy Drew in me.

My pin has a patent pending mark along with a very faint signature.
There is also some type of mark in the center.

I am going to visit a jeweler soon to see if I can borrow a loop.
Until then...anyone have any ideas?

Armani Prive Eclat De Jasmin

I received this decant from Alesha at my local Saks. I have no information on notes or a release date.
What I do know is....
this is one of the best jasmine fragrances I have ever tried.
It is a quiet and haunting jasmine note with a drydown of incense and woods.
Perfection in every sense.
The notes according to Bois de Jasmin are bergamot, plum, lemon, jasmine, osmanthus, rose, patchouli, amber and vetiver.

Blogdorf Roadshow:

I collect Aurora Borealis jewelry. I love the shimmer and fire of the crystals.
While visiting my friend Dramaqueenie2, we spent a Saturday at her local flea market. We spied this magnificent gray aurora borealis set. I wavered at the price but DQ2 stated the magic words....
"If you do not buy that...I will!"
I bought it instantly.

Nars Fall and Holiday 2007 Collections

Sneak peek into Nars Fall and Holiday 2007 collections.

Let the lemmings begin!

I think I need Night Rider, Night Snow(the white shade that sparkles), Voyage, and all the lipsticks and glosses.
But my heart fluttered and did a little jig for the underworld duo. Can you imagine the potential smoky eye with that shadow?

Before you ask...I have no information on release dates. All I have is this sneak peek of pictures.
Lets just savor them.

Bond Countdown:
1 Day left

Here is the Coney Island mention!

Youtube

Daily Reminder till Saturday: Laurice from Bond fragrances is coming to Northeast Ohio. She will be at Beachwood's Saks this Saturday April 28th from 11am to 6pm.
The Bond counter girls are still taking appointments for fragrance consultations at 216-292-5500 ext: 265 or talk to my Nars girl Alesha at 216-292-5500 ext: 256.

If you want to order an autographed Bond fragrance you can mention Blogdorf Goodman to receive free shipping(they are waiving it) and a free Bon Bon(retail value of $40) of your choice.

My Bon Bon is going to be Chinatown. My 2nd bottle is dangerously low.
One day I dream of shower gels and lotions in this scent.
I also would love a perfume solid in a Chinatown compact.
I am throwing these wishes out into the universe because I am reading The Secret.

Blogdorf Roadshow:

I bought the blue pin from my local Banana Republic.
I thought it was sweet and perfect for a coat.
Later that year I stumbled across the clip pink earrings at the Goodwill auction. I thought the likeness was uncanny.
This year I scored the poppy red and yellow earrings.
There are no makers mark on any of the earrings.

On a funny note, if you turn to page 308 in your May Vogue, you can see a stunning high end version created by Chanel.
This necklace is priced at $38, 320.
My earrings were the price of a venti size coffee at Starbucks.

Blogdorf Bond Countdown: 2 days

Laurice has announced that she is bringing a surprise for cavewoman.

I know what the surprise is and have managed to not spill the beans so far.
Will it be the long dreamed of chypre fragrance? A drum filled with Chinatown?
Magnolia cupcakes?
Lancome's Erika F eyeshadow?
Gerald?

Tune in Sunday to find out the answer.

Daily Reminder till Saturday: Laurice from Bond fragrances(the maker of my beloved Chinatown) is coming to Northeast Ohio. She will be at Beachwood's Saks on April 28th from 11am to 6pm. The Bond counter girls are taking appointments for fragrance consultations at 216-292-5500 ext: 265 or talk to my Nars girl Alesha at 216-292-5500 ext: 256.

Estee Lauder's Tom Ford Summer Collection

I took some pictures at my local Lauder counter in Cleveland. The Tom Ford Azuree fragrance is sold out.
The beachwood store still has some bottles of the oil left.
The bronzer is the same as last year but in a lovely blue compact. I love this bronzer with a passion.
James said that this collection is it. No more Ford summer collections. The Ford contract is up.
This means if you like anything you might want to stockpile.

Call Alesha or James at 216-292-5500 ext: 256 if you are lemming anything by Lauder.

Blogdorf Roadshow:

The tiara is a birthday gift from Dramaqueenie2. It is marked Ardell.
I wear it often around the house.
It is hard to have a bad day in a crown.

The first rhinestone necklace is marked Kramer NY. It is a vintage piece I picked up in high school. Vintage shops were all the rage in the late eighties.

These next pieces were all purchased at the Goodwill auction. They are unmarked and went for a song. The bracelet was my favorite find.
It was $5.

Question: Does anyone besides me and dramaqueenie2 own a tiara?
