Blogdorf Goodman's Poll

Fragrance of the day: Serge Lutens Sarrasins

Nail Polish: Chanel Navy Satin

Lippie: Chanel Summer Plum Glossimer over MAC Deliciously Rich
I am currently obsessed with the muted yet glistening plum lips that I saw on everyone in Paris.

Eyeshadow: Erika F with MAC Nanogold & Vanilla Pigment

Music: I am just praying that my co-worker does not bust out the Luther Vandross. I can not handle any more Luther this week. (R.I.P Mr Luther)

Mood: Grumpy

Current Lemming: A fabulous concealer and something to help with dark circles/bags under the eyes. I need help.

Something you are stalking: The entire Forever 21 site...waiting for this orange jacket that has been copied from J Crew's Piazza jacket.

Drink: Coffee with blueberry nut creamer

Regret: I wish I would have purchased a Stephane Marais compact(pictured above) when I had the chance.

What is currently driving you crazy? My home computer. I am trying to be wireless and it just will not work. I am online for 15 minutes and then ***poof***my connection is gone. I want to throw the whole thing out the window.

Lancome Invite and Christopher Kane Lippies.....

Lancôme invites you to get catwalk ready with Fashion Week and Celebrity Makeup Artist Extraordinaire Daniel Martin, Lancôme Spokesmodel Selena Breed, author of the acclaimed book “Violet on the Runway” Melissa Walker and the
Lancôme Backstage Makeup Team....

WHEN: Friday, February 1, 2008

TIME: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

WHERE: Lancôme The Boutique 1200 Morris Turnpike Short Hills, NJ 07078

You will also get a copy of "Violet on the Runway" and a Lancome t-shirt with any purchase of a Christopher Kane Juicy Tube and mascara. I am currently obsessed with Hypnose Onyx. It is giving my "sad excuse" for lashes much needed volume.

WHY DO YOU NEED TO COVET CHRISTOPHER KANE JUICY TUBE: The packaging is beyond adorable. I was gifted Tokyo(pictured above) in Paris. It is a shimmery fizzy champagne gold. The juicy tubes will be a limited edition item...so you know the drill.
Grab and hoard while you can.

You need to RSVP you full name, phone number and a note to
cschramke@lancome-usa.com

Can you handle more Erika F Gushing?

The first thing I went looking for at the Paris Lancome boutique was not the perfumes or the rumored urn of 2000 et une Rose.
I did not look for a restroom either...even though I had to go.
I did not get sidetracked by the beautiful displays or the dashing Lancome men.

My mind was consumed by one product. The product that has not seen the US shores in quite a while. The product that has been spotted in Germany and various European towns.
The product that has some makeupalley members trading their souls to get their hands on it.
Beauty junkies...you know what I am talking about.

I am gushing over Color Focus 133 Erika F formerly known as Extreme Nicole.
This is Lancome's Parrot.
An eyeshadow that has achieved legendary cult status after being discontinued.
Today it lives on as Ombre Absolue in G40 Erika F-133.
It currently comes in a square package and is available all over Europe.
So far the yanks are out of luck.
But I have high hopes it will make it's way back to our shores.

Cult classics are never fully appreciated the first time around. It is only when they are yanked from our hands do we realize just how much we adore them. 2000 et une Rose by Lancome was largely revered after it was pulled from the shelves. On Ebay, a slightly used bottle fetched hundreds of dollars. A Lancome executive confided to us that a magazine ad of the fragrance recently went for thousands at auction. Due to the high demand and shameless begging, 2000 et une Rose returned as Mille & Une Roses.

So here is Erika F in her natural habitat... and some shameless begging from me.

Another way to take up more space is with perfume. I really love wearing perfume. (Andy Warhol)

I have read that Mr Warhol was a lover of fragrance. It is rumored that he is buried with a bottle of Estee Lauder's Beautiful.
He was one serious perfume junkie.
I have no clue which one I would choose for the afterlife. I have too many to choose from and a casket is only so big. I would bring my whole collection with me if a mausoleum was built in my honor. I might as well be eccentric in death.

This is a late review for Bond 9's eccentric perfume Silver Factory. Bond is working with the Warhol foundation to produce perfumes with a New York City and Warhol twist. Silver Factory is their first collaboration. I was lucky enough to smell this from the lab bottle before the release date. I never dreamed that it would work with my chemistry or be a scent that I would fall in love with.
I thought it teetered dangerously on the masculine edge.

I received a decant of the scent the last time I was in NYC with Laurice. I figured that I would give the decant bottle to my current crush or save it for my Prince Charming....whenever he gets his ass here.
Needless to say, it has been gathering dust on my vanity table.
Yesterday, I decided to live dangerously and spritzed myself with Silver Factory. Instead of a masculine cedarwood vibe, I detected a fine incense twisted in with some ultra feminine florals. There is a whisper of jasmine and what appears to be an appearance of violet. The drydown was spicy, ambery and warm.

I was able to wear it without thinking I smelled like a dude.
I passed my sample vial onto a male co-worker and he seemed quite smitten with it as well. He asked a 1000 questions but seemed to balk when the price tag was revealed to him.
This fragrance retails for $230.
It is parfum concentrate. I am no expert or snob when it comes to EDT, EDP and Parfum versions. There have been times when I prefer the EDT to the parfum version of a perfume. My friends talk endlessly of the merits of all the versions of Mitsouko.
This version of a Bond perfume is very strong and has great lasting power. It has layers. It has oomph.

L.U.C.I Eyes
Light Color in Motion Eye Shadow Duo

You might notice that there are two other shades available in this collection. These colors are only offered in Europe.
The blue is the shade of a robin's egg. The green is actually the shade of fresh spring grass. They each come with the handy photonic shade. This is a opal wash that just manages to make everything look better. It is the secret weapon of the shell.

This is the first time I have seen the packaging in real life. I loved the clam-like shape with the exaggerated rose design on the cover. It was the perfect combination of Gucci Westman and George Jetson.

It is Gucci Jetson.

Sponge Worthy: The Beauty Blender Sponge

Who were the early fans? Patti aka Cavewoman and Julia from All About The Pretty.

What makes it "sponge worthy"? It might look like an ordinary sponge. But I think there might be some pixie magic in the pores. It manages to give a flawless application within minutes. You also use less foundation. This is a huge benefit when you wear La Mer every day. It covers imperfections in a way that I did not know was possible.

How do you use it? You dampen the beauty blender sponge and then towel it dry to remove excess water. You then dip it into your favorite foundation, concealer, creme blush and powders. I have only tested it with foundation so far.
You bounce the sponge up and down your face. This bouncing technique leaves your make up looking smooth, even and actually flawless. I have never been able to achieve results like this with a brush or my fingers.
The pointed end of the sponge is used for hard to reach areas and gives more controlled application.

How do you clean it? They created their own called blender cleanser. It is scented with lavender.
When you are ready to replace your sponge, you can send it to blender sender to have it recycled.
The sponge is latex free and is soy based.

Where can I score one? beautyblender.net

I'd rather have roses on my table (or on my feet)
than diamonds 'round my neck.

There were many highlights from my Paris trip.
One of them being this pair of heels worn by Juliette Bincohe. They took my breath away.

The rose is the official symbol of the Lancome company. You can spy the flower on everything from the packaging to the ingredient list on many of the fragrances. Lancome also owns the bragging rights on being responsible for producing one of the great rose fragrances of all time. 2000 et une Rose, now known as Mille & Une Roses is exquisite.

Pictured above: Odile Roujol, President of Lancome International

Juliette Binoche and Laura Morante have been chosen to represent the revamped Renergie Anti-Ageing line. They were lovely and generous.
Several bloggers were able to pose questions to the stunning duo. I was able to ask Juliette what her favorite Lancome product was. Juliette is an early fan of the new Renergie mask. She is smitten with the texture and fragrance. She loves masks in general because she does not have to do anything. It was fun to hear that Miss Binoche likes to be sluggish occasionally.
Juliette's skin was distracting. She did not have a visible pore and seemed to just glow. Her blush was just a hint of pink and her lippie was this flattering glistening mauve shade.

Tresor is a perfume with a past, with a memory . You feel when you wear it that you can't be forgotten. (Isabella Rossellini)

The second Tresor was launched in 1990. It was created by the queen of roses, Sophia Grojsman. This scent mixes a spicy Otto rose with a heavy apricot note. The apricot is dense, rich, full of nectar and slightly musky. It is this note that makes the whole fragrance slightly naughty and fleshy. The middle notes are peach, jasmine, lilac, lily of the valley(greenish),iris & heliotrope(gives it a powdery vibe)and ends with a drydown of candyish vanilla, sandalwood, amber and musk.
Last year I discovered a Lancome history book at The Strand in NYC. It was written by Jacqueline Demornex. The pages revealed a slew of Lancome fragrances I have never experienced. There was a Tresor that was launched in 1952 and was described as "a fragrance that combined the magnificence of the orient combined with the taste of Paris".

Present day Tresor is very sultry yet ladylike to me. Like a bottled up Dita Von Teese. You can imagine a woman in a proper Dior suit with Agent Provocateur knickers underneath.
Tresor is available at your local Lancome counter worldwide. I recommend the EDP for it's strength and staying power. The EDT is lighter and less powdery.

These are pictures from the Lancome boutique in Paris. I fell in love with the Tresor light fixture. It shimmered and sparkled.

Me and my PS Kiss are back from our Paris World Tour.

The trip was lovely and amazing.
PS Kiss enjoyed touring the Eiffel Tower while my personal favorite moment was a violet pastry from Laduree. Of course, no Paris trip would be complete without my beloved Behnaz. Here she is at Les Georges....

I promise to spill more details throughout the week. Right now I am staring at the piles on my desk...and feeling overwhelmed.

My friend K gifted me with my very own Erika F eyeshadow from Lancome. It has slowly become a cult classic with beauty junkies scrambling to get their hands on it.

What makes it so worthy of pillaging or plain old begging?

It is a mixture of olive green with gold flashes of fire. This might sound like I am describing MAC Sumptious Olive.
But wait...
Once applied on the eye it gets a mushroom-ish taupe quality. The best smokey eyes I have ever accomplished was with this little eyeshadow. It seems to alternate between smoke and green throughout the course of a day.
It is everything and a bag of chips.

There is a catch to this review.
To locate an Erika F shadow is nearly an impossible quest. It is not available in the states and is a challenge to find in Europe.
Mine hails from Germany.

Readers: If you have spotted Erika F in your neck of the woods let us know in the comments.

I will be MIA for the next few days. I am leaving for Paris in the afternoon. It is another whirlwind trip that promises to be amazing and magical.
I am taking my Behnaz lippie and my nails are painted with Butter's nail polish in Come to Bed Red. It is a perfect match!
My fragrance choice is up in the air. I am going back and forth between Frederic Malle's Musc Ravageur and Bois de Paradis. Then I think I need to bring a Serge and 2000 et une Rose.
Hopefully I will have time to make decants before I go.....
What fragrance would you bring to Paris? Let me know in the comments. Suggest anything.
Have a great weekend everyone!

My Latest Fragrance Lemming:
Champaca by Comme des Garcons

It contains my favorite notes of angelica, cardamom, champaca, along with white pepper, bird pepper (I wonder what this is), tuberose (Uh oh. Not a fan.), white musk, iris wood.

The bottle looks like it was inspired by Devo...which is always a good thing.

It is currently at Luckyscent and retails for a whopping $265.

Has anyone tried this? Tell me everything.

Can I say that I love when Vogue lets Sarah Brown have a few pages?
Sarah Brown is the beauty director at Vogue. Today she let me (and the gazillion Vogue readers) know that Thierry Mugler is creating a makeup line that launches in March.
Will the powders smell like Angel?
Lovers will rejoice and haters will recoil....
All I know is the packaging is very sleek and 20's inspired.

CND created a fabulous poppy shade for Phillip Lim spring runway show.
Is it available to purchase? I have no clue but certainly hope so. That color looks so appealing right now.

YSL has created a charm bracelet with a perfume solid version of Elle Yves Saint Laurent and pink lipgloss. It will be available only at Neiman Marcus in February.
Has anyone seen the beauty charms for Juicy Couture? You can collect a nail polish, lipstick and perfume bottle charm. It is a perfect gift for the beauty junkie.
Can you imagine a charm bracelet with charms of your favorite perfume bottles?

Sarah Brown then gives us the scoop of what colors we will be wearing and coveting for spring.
Here is the breakdown:
Colors will be intense with neon orange, leafy green, sky blues and every shade of pink known to man. Marc Jacobs described it as "Spongebob SquarePants".
I think it is all very technicolor and Wizard of Oz-ish.
Think fields of poppies, the blue gingham dress, and the green shade of the witches skin.

Zoya Utopia Collection

Austine is a lovely whispery copper with pink fire.

Akyra is a teal/peacock shade. It leans toward green rather than blue.

Irene is a shimmery pea green color. It is an olive shaded green.

Juno is a shimmery grape/blue violet shade.

Tama is a shimmery hollywood cerise shade. Not exactly a fuchsia or a shocking pink. Leans closer to a red violet color.

Kamilah is a red with coral shimmer. Like a vodka tomato sauce shade.

The entire set retails for $34 and is available at www.artofbeauty.com
